AEW Dynamite brought the heat to Cleveland, Ohio, on August 6, with a night full of wild finishes, rising tensions, and violent statements. From Brodido’s huge tournament win to MJF’s controversial main event finish, Dynamite planted serious seeds for Forbidden Door.

Let’s break down everything that went down — winners, losers, shockers, and a few receipts waiting to be delivered.

👑 Mercedes Moné Arrives, Dismisses Renee Paquette

Moné pulled up in a limo, flaunted her titles, chewed watermelon — then told Renee, “Don’t be such a mark.” The message? She’s back. And she’s not here for your praise.

🏆 TBS Title Qualifier: Alex Windsor def. Queen Aminata, Skye Blue & Billie Starkz

In a fast-paced four-way qualifier for Forbidden Door, Alex Windsor outlasted chaos, chair shots, and a stacked field.

After Skye Blue hit a jaw-dropping Avalanche Sunset Flip Powerbomb and Aminata nailed an Emerald Flowsion, Windsor capitalized. With interference from Athena causing mayhem, Windsor caught Starkz in a clean inside cradle for the win.

Mercedes Moné confronted Windsor post-match, but before anything escalated, Athena took out Toni Storm with an O-Face, and Moné dropped Windsor with a Lungblower. Mercedes and Athena shared a tense stare-down to close the segment.

Wrestling.News | Backstage Take:
Windsor’s win was earned — but the post-match made it clear: Forbidden Door is going to get nasty fast. Moné vs. Athena might just steal the whole damn show.

🧨 Jon Moxley def. Speedball Mike Bailey

In a violent, technically sound banger, Jon Moxley overcame the explosive offense of Speedball Mike Bailey.

Bailey’s backflip knee drop and submission flurries nearly put Moxley away, but Darby Allin made a surprise appearance, dragging Wheeler Yuta out of the crowd and away. Distracted but focused, Moxley nailed a crushing Death Rider to secure the win.

After the bell, Moxley exited through the crowd in pursuit of Allin — Yuta stuffed in a body bag and a note that read: “Forbidden Door.”

Wrestling.News | Backstage Take:
Bailey earned Moxley’s respect — and maybe a rematch down the road. But Allin vs. Moxley? That's a collision course written in blood.

🏆 AEW World Tag Title Eliminator Semifinal: Brodido def. The Young Bucks

In a semi-final clash of power vs. finesse, Brody King and Bandido steamrolled The Young Bucks — and not even technical difficulties and pyro jokes could save the Jacksons this time.

Despite a flurry of Superkicks and a TK Driver, Brodido rallied with brutal tag combos. Bandido landed a 21-Plex followed by their signature assisted flip finisher to score the pinfall. With this win, Brodido now moves on to face FTR in the tournament finals.

Wrestling.News | Backstage Take:
The Bucks demanded respect — but Brodido took their pride. AEW's tag division just got serious again.

🔥 Grudge Match Main Event: MJF def. Mark Briscoe

In a brutal and deeply personal showdown, MJF and Mark Briscoe collided in the night’s main event. Briscoe brought the fight early, using unrelenting strikes and even a step-up blockbuster off a chair at ringside.

MJF fought dirty, biting Briscoe and targeting his eyes and ribs throughout. Briscoe rallied, hitting a Froggy Bow and a Nestea Plunge, but MJF narrowly survived. In the match’s most heartbreaking moment, Briscoe missed a second Froggy Bow through a table. MJF followed up with a Heatseeker — and though Briscoe got a foot on the ropes, the ref didn’t see it. MJF stole the win.

Post-match, he used the Dynamite Diamond Ring to blast Briscoe until Hangman Page stormed out and brawled with MJF to close the show.

Wrestling.News | Backstage Take:
MJF didn't just win — he weaponized the system. This was vintage devil-level villainy. The real payoff may be Hangman vs. MJF... but Briscoe deserves more than just sympathy. He deserves another shot.

🗣️ Interviews and Backstage Segments

🧠 Swerve Strickland Sends a Final Warning to Kazuchika Okada

Standing atop the entrance ramp with Prince Nana, Swerve dismissed Don Callis, praised Okada’s legacy, and made it clear he isn’t scared of the Rainmaker — he’s coming for his soul.

Quote of the Night:

“He looked into my eyes and saw death. I will stand over the defeated body of Kazuchika Okada in the O2 Arena.”
 Backstage Take:
No smoke. No nonsense. Just fire. Swerve’s time is now.

🎤 Adam Copeland vs. Stokely Hathaway Announced for Next Week

Copeland revealed he convinced Tony Khan to sanction a one-on-one match vs. Stokely Hathaway — with a catch: if FTR interferes, the restraining order is null and void.

Backstage Take:
Copeland’s baiting them. FTR’s only options? Let Big Stoke get eaten alive… or unleash Rated-R chaos.

🗣️ The Hurt Syndicate Kicks MJF Out

MVP publicly removed MJF from The Hurt Syndicate, accusing him of ego and selfishness. His final warning?

“If you succeed… Bobby Lashley is coming for you. And it won’t be business. It’ll be personal.”

Backstage Take:
That wasn’t a warning — that was a prophecy.

💰 Kyle Fletcher Receives a Gift… and a Challenge

The Don Callis Family celebrated Kyle Fletcher’s TNT Title win with a risqué painting from Callis himself. Fletcher declared he’ll defend the title Saturday on Collision — against anyone. This should be interesting, can't wait to see the battle this weekend for the TNT Title!

Backstage Take:
He’s flashy, he’s nasty, and he’s unpredictable. Fletcher is living up to the “Protostar” moniker — and lighting a fire under the TNT belt.

🤝 Hangman Page Shows Love to Briscoe

Backstage before the main event, Hangman told Mark Briscoe he admired him more now than ever — and gave his blessing if Briscoe earns a shot at the AEW World Title.

Backstage Take:
Friendship. Grit. Respect. AEW’s emotional core is still alive.

🎀 Kris Statlander Trolls Willow & Aminata

Statlander interrupted a sincere segment between Aminata and Willow Nightingale, tossing confetti and mocking “women supporting women.” Willow wasn’t amused — and warned Kris to take things seriously or step aside.
