AEW took over Glasgow, Scotland, on August 20 for a jam-packed episode of Dynamite, taped just days before Forbidden Door. The night was filled with shocking twists, surprise returns, and chaos that spilled far beyond the ring.
Commentary Team
Excalibur and Tony Schiavone were joined on headset by none other than Bryan Danielson, giving the broadcast an extra boost of credibility and excitement.
Ospreay Opens Dynamite
The show kicked off with Will Ospreay cutting a fiery promo. Despite not being medically cleared, he vowed to compete at Forbidden Door anyway since the bout is unsanctioned. His words barely finished before Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta hit the ring. The confrontation quickly turned physical, but Ospreay wasn’t left alone—Speedball Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, and eventually Hiroshi Tanahashi ran in, sparking a wild multi-man brawl.

The Death Riders fought brutally, but interference turned this contest into bedlam. Gabe Kidd, Drilla Maloney, Clark Connors, and Robbie X all inserted themselves before the Young Bucks arrived after the bell. Things got even crazier when Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly chased the Bucks to the back. Just when the dust seemed to settle, Darby Allin made a surprise appearance, fueling an all-out brawl that spilled into the crowd.
Copeland & Christian Segment
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage shared the ring with Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne. In a major twist, Luchasaurus returned—but sided against Christian. Wayne revealed he’s injured and won’t compete at Forbidden Door, so Luchasaurus will step in as Sabian’s partner. The crowd erupted at the betrayal, setting the stage for a heated tag showdown.
Tag Team Eliminator: FTR vs. Brodido

Result: Time Limit Draw
The highly anticipated tag eliminator ended in stunning fashion: a time-limit draw. As a result, both FTR and Brodido advance to challenge the Hurt Syndicate for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at Forbidden Door.
Hangman’s Tough Choice
Hangman Adam Page came to the ring, only for the cameras to cut backstage where MJF had Mark Briscoe restrained with the help of Ricochet and the Gates of Agony. MJF forced Page to accept three brutal conditions for their upcoming match:
- The title can change hands via disqualification.
- The title can change hands via count-out.
- MJF will not be required to cash in his contract to get his title shot.
Page had no choice but to agree, adding huge stakes to Forbidden Door.
Main Event: Women’s Tag Action
Mercedes Moné & Athena vs. Toni Storm & Alex Windsor
Winners: Mercedes Moné & Athena
The women’s division took center stage to close the night. Tensions were high with all four women set for key matches at Forbidden Door. Moné and Athena stood tall after an intense contest, giving them momentum heading into London.
