AEW Enters the DC Universe: Justice League Crossover Comic Series Announced

AEW is about to collide with superheroes. In a groundbreaking move, AEW and DC Comics have officially announced a new crossover comic book series titled The Justice League Meets AEW.
The two-issue event will kick off with an exclusive preview at New York Comic Con (October 9–12), giving fans the first look at a story that promises to merge wrestling’s biggest stars with DC’s most iconic heroes.
Who’s Involved?
On the AEW side, the comic will spotlight some of the promotion’s most recognizable names: Mercedes Moné, Will Ospreay, Darby Allin, Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, Hangman Adam Page, “Timeless” Toni Storm, Willow Nightingale, Orange Cassidy, and Kenny Omega.
They’ll share pages with Aquaman, Batman, Nightwing, Green Lanterns Guy Gardner and John Stewart, Hawkgirl, Zatanna, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn.
The story will see AEW wrestlers and DC heroes team up to recover the Big Galactic Belt and prevent a cosmic catastrophe — a premise that blends wrestling drama with superhero stakes.
The series is penned by Steve Orlando, illustrated by Travis Mercer, with cover art by Lucas Meyer. Copies will be available in 2026 at comic book shops, ShopAEW.com, and select AEW events.

Beyond the Ring
As part of the partnership, AEW will promote DC K.O., a new comic series featuring a 32-character DC tournament, complete with special AEW-variant covers. DC will also step into wrestling directly as the presenting sponsor of AEW Full Gear on November 22, live from Newark, NJ.
At NYCC, AEW CEO Tony Khan will join stars Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, Orange Cassidy, and Willow Nightingale for a special panel titled “Heroes, Villains, Spaces In-Between: Pro Wrestling and Comic Storytelling.” A signing event with AEW talent and DC artists is also scheduled for October 11.
🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take
This crossover feels like one of AEW’s boldest brand moves to date. Wrestling has long borrowed from comic book-style storytelling — larger-than-life heroes, villains, and epic battles — so bringing AEW into the DC universe feels like a natural fit. The inclusion of names like Moxley, Omega, and Toni Storm alongside Batman and Wonder Woman isn’t just fan service, it’s a signal that AEW is positioning itself as pop culture, not just pro wrestling.
Add in DC sponsoring Full Gear, and this partnership has the potential to blur the lines between comics and wrestling in a way we haven’t seen since WCW dipped into Marvel crossovers in the ’90s. Expect fans at NYCC to eat this up, and expect this to bring fresh eyes onto AEW programming heading into the WrestleDream season.
