Sacramento, California — In a high-octane showdown on Monday Night Raw tonight, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee captured the World Tag Team Championships, defeating champions Finn Balor and JD McDonagh in a match full of near falls, breathtaking maneuvers, and chaos that had the Golden 1 Center buzzing from start to finish.

The bout started with JD McDonagh and AJ Styles in the ring. McDonagh dominated early, showcasing his technical precision, but Styles fought back with a hard-hitting corner sequence and a tag to Dragon Lee. Lee immediately brought the energy, unloading strikes and hitting a Tree of Woe double stomp, sending McDonagh to the floor. Dragon Lee then wowed the crowd with a tope con giro, landing perfectly from the top rope.

Back inside the ring, the action escalated. McDonagh attempted a desperate powerbomb, only to be thwarted by Styles’ and Lee’s teamwork. Finn Balor and Styles traded big moves, including a Sling Blade and a springboard Phenomenal Forearm, but McDonagh constantly interfered, keeping the champs from gaining the upper hand. Dragon Lee continued to shine with a suicide dive onto McDonagh, followed by a relentless offensive on Balor.

The finish came in spectacular fashion. After a series of counters and reversals, AJ Styles delivered a Styles Clash on Finn Balor, while Dragon Lee had McDonagh occupied outside the ring, securing the pinfall victory. The crowd erupted as Styles and Lee celebrated their new reign as WWE World Tag Team Champions, ending the night with a statement: these two are a force to be reckoned with.

🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

This victory marks a major elevation for Dragon Lee, solidifying him alongside the veteran Phenomenal One. Sources backstage indicate WWE creative has big plans for this duo, and tonight’s win could shake up the tag team division leading into Survivor Series. The Judgment Day pairing of Balor and McDonagh looked strong, but Styles and Lee’s experience, chemistry, and high-impact offense proved too much to overcome. Fans are buzzing about potential rematches and the implications for the road to WrestleMania.
