WWE kicked off SmackDown tonight in unforgettable fashion as “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar returned to the blue brand on the hunt for John Cena heading into their Wrestlepalooza battle. Fans expected chaos, carnage, and a fiery promo aimed at John Cena — but what they got instead was one of the funniest and most entertaining opening segments of the year, thanks to none other than R-Truth.

The Return of Truth

After his iconic rap entrance, R-Truth stormed down to the ring and welcomed Brock back, admitting, “You know Brock, I used to be afraid of you, but I ain’t no more.” Lesnar, looking all business, glared at Truth and shot back: “Great… but who the hell are you? I’m looking for John Cena.”

The crowd booed loudly as Brock seemingly disrespected Truth, but the 52-year-old legend wasn’t backing down. With his trademark wit, Truth proudly declared: “I’m R-Truth… John Cena’s brother. Ron Cena!”

The arena erupted with laughter. Brock, trying not to crack a smile, quipped, “Same mother?” to which Truth deadpanned, “Nah, same dad.”

From Comedy to Carnage

The crowd ate it up, and for a rare moment, Lesnar couldn’t help but laugh along. Then, in classic Brock fashion, he turned the fun into fury. Pointing at Truth’s mouth, he asked: “Hey, did you know you’re missing a tooth?” Truth rubbed his jaw in confusion — and just like that, Lesnar scooped him up and delivered a crushing F5.

But the wildest part? Brock Lesnar ripped his pants mid-F5. Playing it off with a quick “booty shake” for the crowd, The Beast looked genuinely embarrassed but also leaned into the comedy of the moment.

It was a side of Lesnar fans rarely see — equal parts brutal and hilarious.

What’s Next?

Lesnar eventually stormed backstage (likely to find new pants) as he continues his hunt for John Cena. The segment not only set the tone for the night but gave fans a rare treat: a Brock Lesnar moment that was as funny as it was fierce.

This was easily one of the most entertaining SmackDown openings of the year. And for R-Truth, it was proof he deserves far more spotlight — his comedic timing, charisma, and veteran instincts had the entire arena hanging on his every word.

Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

This was a gem of a segment. R-Truth’s “Ron Cena” gag is destined to live on in highlight reels, and Brock’s accidental pants-rip only added to the spectacle. While Lesnar vs. Cena is the big-money feud heading into Wrestlepalooza, Truth came out looking like the unsung star of the night. If WWE is smart, they’ll capitalize on this and finally give Truth the consistent TV time he deserves.
