D-Von Dudley Won’t Get WWE Sendoff — One Last Match May Be Bound for Glory

One half of one of the most decorated tag teams in professional wrestling history may have quietly closed the curtain on his in-ring WWE career. D-Von Dudley, the 10-time WWE Tag Team Champion and ECW original, says the door may be shut when it comes to wrestling again under the WWE banner.
Speaking candidly on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, D-Von addressed the lingering possibility of one final match. While he confirmed he still has "one more left in the tank," he admitted WWE’s current health clearance process makes a return highly unlikely.
"I don’t think the powers that be would let that happen," D-Von said. "WWE goes through so much to get somebody to a point where you have to prove that you’re healthy... I would do it definitely for WWE. WWE is my home. It always has been, just like ECW. No other company would come before that."
🛑 D-Von’s WWE Days May Be Over
WWE is known for offering legends a fitting sendoff — a final match, a Hall of Fame spotlight, or a segment that ties up loose ends with respect. But it appears D-Von, 10-time WWE Tag Team Champion and one half of Team 3D (The Dudley Boyz), may not be granted that kind of farewell.
The longtime star hasn't wrestled in WWE since his full-time run ended in 2016. Though he's remained involved in the industry behind the scenes, including producing, the current climate in WWE surrounding in-ring medical clearances may be too much of a hurdle.
🚨 Team 3D Reunion Brewing... But Not in WWE
While D-Von may not get his WWE farewell, fans might still witness a final Team 3D match — just not in Stamford.
At TNA Slammiversary, The Hardy Boyz reclaimed the TNA Tag Team Championships. Following their win, Bully Ray — D-Von's legendary tag partner — returned and issued a challenge: Hardys vs. Team 3D at Bound for Glory this October.
D-Von was not present at the PPV, but his recent comments may suggest that match is the one he had in mind when referencing “one more.” Whether he steps into a TNA ring for one last ride or not, the possibility of a final chapter outside WWE now feels very real.
🎙️ MainEvent.News | Backstage Take
D-Von Dudley deserves a sendoff with the respect his legacy commands — but sometimes the wrestling business doesn’t do storybook endings. Whether it happens at Bound for Glory or not at all, D-Von's impact on tag team wrestling is immortal. From flaming tables in ECW to historic TLC matches in WWE, he helped define a golden era. If this is truly the end, then all that's left to say is: “Testify.”
