Detailed Report: Masha Slamovich Responds to Allegations as Career Fallout Continues

TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich is at the center of controversy this week after abuse allegations surfaced online. The claims, made public by a friend of her former partner Alexander Atkisson, have already led to repercussions for Slamovich’s career both inside and outside of TNA.
Allegations and Initial Reaction
On Tuesday morning, a thread on X went viral when Atkisson’s friend shared a Dropbox link containing over 100 screenshots of alleged conversations between Slamovich and Atkisson. In the posts, Slamovich was accused of being “abusive” and “entitled.” The fallout was immediate, sparking a storm of fan discussion and forcing promotions to address her status.
Slamovich broke her silence Wednesday night with a post on X. In her statement, she acknowledged her part in what she described as a “toxic and mutually destructive” relationship, apologized to Atkisson, and expressed regret to fans and colleagues who may feel let down. Slamovich added that she would not be issuing any further public comments on the matter.
Promotions Respond
While Slamovich’s name had already been absent from TNA’s invasion on WWE NXT earlier this week due to being overseas, reports from Fightful note that her contract with TNA is nearing expiration.
The allegations have nonetheless altered her active bookings. Slamovich has been pulled from multiple independent events, and her advertised TNA Knockouts Championship defense against Ash By Elegance at Victory Road is no longer being promoted. TNA itself issued a statement to The Takedown on SI confirming an internal investigation:
“We take any allegations like this very seriously, and have begun an internal investigation.”
As of now, TNA has not shared whether that investigation has been concluded.

The Fallout and Atkisson’s Perspective
After Slamovich’s statement, the original X user who released the screenshots alleged that she had sent them death threats and claimed her apology was not sincere.
Atkisson (ring name Akira) himself followed with a lengthy response Tuesday afternoon. In his message, he admitted to holding back the release of certain screenshots for years, framing the experience as part of his personal growth.
“They’re a part of my life and history. I don’t get to where I am now; a mature and thoughtful person with a healthy dose of CTE without the experiences I went through and the isolation I experienced in a foreign country.” – Alexander Atkisson on X

Victory Road Moves Forward
Despite Slamovich’s uncertain status, TNA Victory Road will move forward this Friday, September 26, live on TNA+ from the Edmonton Expo Centre in Alberta, Canada. The card includes Mike Santana vs. Ridge Holland and Steve Maclin defending the TNA International Championship against Frankie Kazarian.
🎙️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take
This situation places both Slamovich and TNA in a difficult position. While Masha’s in-ring ability has elevated her to the top of the Knockouts Division, the outside-the-ring controversy threatens to overshadow her achievements. For TNA, the timing is particularly complicated with Victory Road just days away. Wrestling history has shown that off-screen drama can sometimes derail even the brightest careers, and the future of Slamovich’s run as champion remains uncertain as fans and promotions alike wait for the next move.
