Drew McIntyre’s Travel Trouble Threatens SummerSlam Night 1 Match

Just days before WWE’s historic two-night SummerSlam event, Drew McIntyre may be grounded—literally. The Scottish Warrior, who is set to team with Logan Paul against Randy Orton and Jelly Roll on Night 1, is currently stuck in the UK due to a passport issue, casting doubt over the tag match’s status.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, McIntyre was denied boarding his flight back to the U.S. after being unable to use his British passport. Though he’s a long-time U.S. resident living in Nashville, this particular flight required his American passport—which he didn’t have with him.
🗣️ WWE Responds to McIntyre’s Status
Despite the hiccup, WWE insiders remain optimistic that the issue will be resolved before Saturday.
“WWE sources we spoke to feel confident it will be rectified, although they obviously weren't pleased.”
🎥 McIntyre Breaks Silence in Viral Video
McIntyre himself took to social media, venting about his situation in a now-viral video filmed in the English countryside. With dry sarcasm and full heel energy, he described how he and his wife were denied check-in at the airport:
"Do you wanna know how my week’s been capped off? I can’t get back into America.”

He revealed that he had been in England for a friend’s wedding, and while his wife flew home for the sake of their pets, he remained behind trying to resolve the passport mess.
And then… in classic McIntyre fashion, he blamed Jelly Roll.
"You realized when I took off my shirt on SmackDown and said, ‘Oh my god, I’m screwed!’ So you used your connections to screw up my training week?”
McIntyre vowed to return in time to destroy his rival, ending the clip with a sharp insult:
"Eventually, you're gonna gain all that weight back and look like one of these f**ers,”* he quipped, turning the camera to a group of cows.
📺 Will the Match Still Happen?
At this time, WWE has not officially canceled or altered the Night 1 match, and with the company reportedly working to resolve the issue, fans are hoping for a last-minute save. The drama only fuels more attention on the already loaded SummerSlam card.
🎙 MainEvent.News | Backstage Take
Whether it’s real-life passport drama or in-character chaos, McIntyre knows how to spin a crisis into compelling TV, he is one of the best actors in the entire wrestling industry. His unscripted video hit harder than half the promos on Raw. If he makes it back, expect one hell of a pop—and a possible shoot-style beatdown on Jelly Roll.
