Gunther Takes a Jab at Goldberg Ahead of Title Clash: “I Guess I Can Spare 3 Minutes”

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther isn’t holding back ahead of his high-profile showdown with WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg. Taking to Instagram following WWE’s official match announcement, The Ring General fired a sharp shot at his upcoming opponent, writing:
“I’m next... guess I can spare 3 minutes.”

The comment plays off Goldberg’s famous catchphrase—“You’re next!”—while also taking a not-so-subtle dig at the WWE legend’s notoriously short match times.

Clash of Eras Set for July 12

The match is set to headline WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia—Goldberg’s hometown. It will air live on NBC and stream simultaneously on Peacock, making it one of WWE’s most anticipated summer showdowns.

This bout marks a rare cross-generational collision between one of wrestling’s most dominant modern champions and one of the most explosive stars of WWE’s past. Gunther, known for his hard-hitting technical style and marathon-like title defenses, will look to add another major name to his growing legacy.

Goldberg, meanwhile, returns to the ring with one goal in mind: reclaiming World Championship gold in front of a home crowd.

One thing’s for sure—Gunther may have predicted a quick night, but fans are expecting fireworks when these two powerhouses collide.
