Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, who passed away last week at the age of 71, may have left more than just a wrestling legacy behind — he also left behind a fractured family, strained relationships, and two grandchildren he reportedly never met.
According to Steven Oleksy, Hogan’s son-in-law and husband of his daughter Brooke Hogan, the Hall of Famer showed “no interest” in meeting Brooke’s newborn twin daughters before his sudden passing from cardiac arrest at his Clearwater, Florida home.
“I sent text messages once again to kind of gauge where he was at, but there was no interest,” Oleksy told People, referring to his attempts to reconnect following the twins’ birth in January.
A Deepening Rift
Though Brooke Hogan hasn’t spoken out in detail since her father’s death, she did hint earlier this year that she had to “step away to protect [her] heart” due to the tension between them. Despite the distance, Oleksy claims his wife remained loyal through most of Hogan’s medical issues prior to the final two years.
“She was there for every surgery. She flew down on her own dime. No one understood his body, his medications, or what he needed more than my wife,” he said.
Reports suggest Oleksy made repeated attempts to “foster peace” between the father and daughter. According to Us Weekly, he even requested a “man-to-man conversation” with Hogan to repair the divide — but was rebuffed.
A Final Phone Call… and Silence
Their last known conversation came in September 2023, just weeks before Hogan’s third marriage to Sky Daily. Brooke expressed her love and concern, urging him to slow down and prioritize his health. But her words went unheard. The call ended, and they never spoke again.
After Hogan’s death, the family drama only deepened.
No Invite. No Goodbye.
While WWE honored Hulk Hogan on Monday Night Raw with an emotional ten-bell salute, Brooke was nowhere to be seen — not by choice. She revealed on Instagram that she was not invited to attend the tribute.
“For those of you giving me crap for not attending my Dad’s tributes, @WWE did not extend an invite,” she posted to her Instagram story Wednesday.@mizzhogan on Instagram
Meanwhile, her brother Nick Hogan delivered a heartfelt tribute in Detroit, standing alongside WWE legends and current superstars. His wife Tana Lea was seen in tears as they honored the wrestling legend.
Hogan is survived by his children Brooke and Nick, and his widow Sky Daily, whom he married in 2023 after previous marriages to Linda Hogan (1983–2009) and Jennifer McDaniel (2010–2021).
