IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer Set to Crown New Women’s World Champion at Wrestlepalooza

The vacant WWE Women’s World Championship will finally find a new home at Wrestlepalooza, as IYO SKY collides with Stephanie Vaquer in what promises to be a high-stakes, show-stealing showdown.

The championship picture was shaken up when Naomi cashed in her Money in the Bank contract at WWE Evolution, capitalizing on a Triple Threat Match with SKY and Rhea Ripley to walk away with the gold. Naomi’s reign, however, lasted just over a month before she announced her pregnancy, forcing her to vacate the title.

That left Raw General Manager Adam Pearce with a tough decision. Two weeks ago, Pearce announced that the championship would be decided in Indianapolis at Wrestlepalooza between two of the division’s most deserving athletes. Stephanie Vaquer earned her spot by surviving the chaos of a grueling Battle Royal at WWE Evolution, while IYO SKY was already lined up to challenge Naomi before the titleholder relinquished the belt.

Now, the stage is set for two of the most technically gifted competitors in the world to battle for WWE’s top women’s prize. SKY brings years of experience as a former champion with unmatched aerial ability, while Vaquer has stormed into WWE with momentum and global credibility from her international career.

Wrestling.news | Backstage Take
This match is quietly one of Wrestlepalooza’s most intriguing bouts. WWE has the opportunity to solidify Stephanie Vaquer as a breakout star on the global stage, or restore IYO SKY to her rightful place atop the women’s division. Either way, expect fireworks: SKY’s high-flying precision against Vaquer’s hybrid technical-striking style is a recipe for one of the night’s most talked-about matches. Don’t be shocked if this bout sets the bar for the entire Wrestlepalooza card.
