WWE’s powerhouse Jacob Fatu may be facing an unexpected detour on what was shaping up to be the biggest year of his career.

According to a new report from Bodyslam.net, Fatu is dealing with what’s being described as a “non-wrestling related injury” that could keep him sidelined for an extended period—possibly into 2026. The timing couldn’t be worse, as Fatu was reportedly penciled in for a major role in the Men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series, originally set to align with CM Punk’s team against The Vision.

This year, Fatu’s trajectory had been nothing short of explosive. After stealing the show in a Last Man Standing Match against Braun Strowman in April, Fatu went on to defeat LA Knight at WrestleMania 41 to claim his first WWE United States Championship. That milestone moment signaled his official arrival as a main-event player.

But his rivalry with Solo Sikoa—which kicked off after Fatu shockingly betrayed him during the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match—became one of WWE’s most heated feuds of 2025. The two clashed at Night of Champions, where Sikoa reclaimed the U.S. Title thanks to interference from Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and a debuting Talla Tonga. Their rematch at SummerSlam delivered a wild, cage-crashing finish that left fans buzzing.

Fatu briefly disappeared from television in mid-August, returning on September 26 to reignite his feud with Drew McIntyre, a storyline that had hinted at bigger things ahead. Those plans now appear to be on hold, with internal talk suggesting WWE will need to restructure the WarGames lineup—especially after Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed’s shocking betrayal of Seth Rollins on this past week’s Monday Night Raw.

If the reports prove true, Fatu’s absence would leave a significant void in WWE’s upper mid-card scene, just as the company seemed ready to elevate him further into main-event territory.

Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

Jacob Fatu’s momentum was undeniable this year—fans and insiders alike viewed him as one of WWE’s most promising breakout stars. If he’s indeed sidelined for months, it’s a major creative blow. WWE had been building Fatu’s presence across multiple storylines, and losing him right before Survivor Series forces a serious pivot. Expect WWE’s creative team to reshuffle roles within the CM Punk-led faction and possibly fast-track another emerging name to fill that WarGames void.
