AEW is about to break new ground—the women’s division will step inside the unforgiving double-ring cage for the first-ever Women’s Blood & Guts match.

Jamie Hayter Issues the Challenge

The announcement came on the September 27th edition of AEW Collision. After defeating Julia Hart in their heated rubber match, Hayter was blindsided by the Triangle of Madness—Hart, Skye Blue, and Thekla. Just when the numbers game looked too much, Queen Aminata stormed the ring and evened the odds, chasing off the trio.

Fired up and fed up, Hayter grabbed the mic and declared she was done with sneak attacks. Her solution: the ultimate battleground—Blood & Guts.

While no official lineup has been confirmed yet, Hayter’s challenge sets the stage for a historic first: women competing in AEW’s most brutal and spectacle-driven stipulation.

Why Blood & Guts Matters

Tony Khan previously hinted at the match during the All Out media scrum, noting that Blood & Guts requires unique seating maps and a two-ring setup. At the time, he asked fans to “stay tuned.” Now, it seems his words were a quiet nod to AEW’s next bold step.

Blood & Guts has been AEW’s answer to WarGames, a spectacle that pits two teams inside a massive double cage where only the toughest survive. The last installment came in July 2024, with Team AEW (Swerve Strickland, Darby Allin, Mark Briscoe, and The Acclaimed) toppling The Elite (The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, Hangman Page, and Jack Perry).

The Women’s Division Spotlight

This year has already seen big moments for the women’s division. Kris Statlander dethroned Toni Storm at All Out to win the AEW Women’s World Championship, while Jamie Hayter’s return has reignited rivalries. With Hayter, Aminata, and others now potentially stepping into the cage, AEW is signaling that its women’s roster is ready to carry one of its marquee matches.

Toni Storm, meanwhile, is set to appear on the upcoming AEW Dynamite: 6th Anniversary special, her first since dropping the title. Whether she plays a role in Blood & Guts remains to be seen, but all eyes will be on her reaction.

🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

AEW’s decision to greenlight a Women’s Blood & Guts is a massive statement. The company has been under pressure to give its women’s division bigger stages, and this is exactly that. Jamie Hayter has the grit, Julia Hart has the momentum, and Skye Blue has transformed herself into one of AEW’s most compelling characters. Add in Queen Aminata, Thekla, and possibly Toni Storm or Kris Statlander, and you’ve got the makings of a brutal, career-defining showcase. If executed right, this could be the match that elevates the entire division.
