Jelly Roll Set to Make a Major Impact at WWE SummerSlam: New Jersey

WWE is turning up the star power once again — and this time, rap-country crossover sensation Jelly Roll is making his way to SummerSlam with more than just a mic in hand.
Following WWE’s trend of embracing mainstream music and celebrity crossovers, Jelly Roll is now confirmed for the build-up to this year’s SummerSlam, and all signs point to a major role on the grand stage.
🏟️ SummerSlam Gets the Star Treatment
Set to take place over two nights — August 2 & 3 — at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, SummerSlam 2025 is shaping up to be one of WWE’s biggest entertainment-fueled events in recent memory.
WWE has already announced Cardi B as the official host, and with past appearances from stars like Travis Scott (who stood ringside as John Cena shocked fans with a heel turn at Elimination Chamber), the company is doubling down on its celebrity integration strategy.
🔥 Jelly Roll’s WWE Return Heats Up
Jelly Roll is now scheduled to appear on the July 11 episode of SmackDown, live from his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. But according to insider Dave Meltzer, this won’t be a one-off cameo.
"Jelly Roll is set to be part of SummerSlam," Meltzer wrote in his Daily Update — hinting that the rapper's involvement could go well beyond music.
Fans may remember Jelly Roll's physical cameo during the 2024 SummerSlam, when he chokeslammed Austin Theory and squared off with Grayson Waller. That moment blew up online — and WWE seems ready to run it back, possibly bigger than before.
🤼♂️ WWE x Music: The Crossovers Keep Coming
From Bad Bunny's matches to Logan Paul's championship run, WWE has proven it knows how to blur the lines between pop culture and pro wrestling. Bringing in Jelly Roll — a fan-favorite with both mainstream chart success and Southern street credibility — is a perfect fit for a company that’s gone all-in on viral crossover moments.
As SummerSlam approaches, expect more news on what Jelly Roll's role will be — and whether he’s just here to perform… or throw hands again.
