Major League Wrestling Bringing Hollywood Heat—Danny McBride Producing “Lucha de los Muertos” in Charleston

Major League Wrestling (MLW) is about to get a big dose of Hollywood swagger as actor and comedian Danny McBride steps in as producer for the upcoming MLW x Don Gato: Lucha de los Muertos event on November 20, 2025, in Charleston, South Carolina.

The show, which marks MLW’s first-ever event in Charleston — will stream live worldwide on MLW’s YouTube channel and air in the U.S. on beIN SPORTS. Tickets start at just $15 and go on sale Tuesday, August 19 at Ticketmaster and MLWGo.com.

While McBride won’t be stepping into the ring, he will be promoting his Don Gato Tequila brand and putting his comedic stamp on the show’s creative direction. In a statement, McBride joked that it took “charm and constant nagging” to convince the mysterious Don Gato — sidelined from spearfishing injuries in Cambodia — to make an appearance.

Hollywood’s influence won’t stop there. Actor Paul Walter Hauser (The Naked Gun, The Fantastic Four: First Steps) is not only serving as executive producer but will also compete inside the ring. MLW owner Court Bauer called the collaboration “the ultimate super team-up,” citing Charleston’s deep wrestling roots as the perfect stage for MLW’s next chapter in the South.
