Mystery WWE Return Planned For Raw Next Week After Superstar Re-Signs With Company

Former Legado Del Fantasma leader could be heading back to the red brand!
After weeks of uncertainty surrounding his WWE future, it looks like Santos Escobar is finally making his way back to television — and it could happen as soon as October 27 on Raw in Anaheim.
According to PWInsider, the recently re-signed Escobar is scheduled to be backstage for that episode, marking his first appearance since WWE quietly removed him from their active roster page earlier this month. While it’s not confirmed if he’ll appear on-screen, his presence alone signals WWE creative has something brewing.
Escobar’s contract was set to expire on October 7, with WWE even moving him to the alumni section — fueling rumors that he could jump ship to AEW. However, those talks cooled fast when WWE reportedly made a stronger offer and addressed his creative concerns.
For months, Escobar had been frustrated with his direction on SmackDown, where he last appeared as part of Legado Del Fantasma alongside Angel and Berto. His last televised match came at WWE Worlds Collide on June 7, teaming with his faction to defeat El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano, and Psycho Clown.
Now, with his new contract inked and a potential brand move on the horizon, Escobar could finally be getting the reset he’s been asking for.
What to Expect
Escobar’s Raw debut could open the door to fresh rivalries and much-needed momentum. The red brand’s mid-card scene is loaded — with Dominik Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and AJ Styles all deeply involved in title programs — but Escobar’s charisma and in-ring work could make him a natural fit in the Intercontinental or tag title picture.
Having never captured a championship on the main roster, this return could mark the start of a redemption arc that finally brings Escobar the spotlight he’s earned since dominating in NXT as Cruiserweight Champion.
Wrestling.News | Backstage Take
It’s encouraging to see WWE re-commit to Escobar after a quiet few months. The company clearly sees long-term value in him, especially with the Latino market being such a focus under Triple H’s leadership. If he’s reintroduced the right way — possibly in a feud with a name like Dominik or Andrade — Escobar could easily re-emerge as one of the most compelling villains on Raw.
