NXT Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. Je’Von Evans

Oba Femi has ruled NXT with an iron grip since winning the championship at New Year’s Evil. Towering, powerful, and unshaken, “The Ruler” has looked untouchable. But Je’Von Evans—the self-proclaimed “Young OG”—earned his shot by defeating Trick Williams after a shocking distraction by Mike Santana.

The two men already clashed earlier this year at Stand & Deliver in a Triple Threat, where Femi came out on top. But tonight’s battle feels different. Evans carries confidence, momentum, and a hunger to prove he belongs at the very top. If Femi retains again, his reign as one of the most dominant champions in recent NXT history continues. If Evans breaks through, a new era may be upon us.

TNA Knockouts Championship: Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Masha Slamovich vs. Ash By Elegance

Jacy Jayne may be the most controversial double champion in wrestling, but she thrives in chaos. With Fatal Influence lurking, Jayne has the numbers game at her disposal—but Slamovich and Ash are not exactly opponents to overlook. Masha brings pure intensity, while Ash By Elegance adds unpredictability. For Jayne, this match is as much about survival as it is about legacy.

NXT Tag Team Championship: Hank & Tank (c) vs. DarkState

Since arriving in NXT, DarkState has bulldozed everything in its path. Now, two members of the faction step up against the hard-hitting champs Hank & Tank. The chaotic numbers advantage could swing things in DarkState’s favor, but the champs have proven time and again they don’t fold under pressure.

NXT Women’s No. 1 Contender Triple Threat: Jaida Parker vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice

The winner earns the next shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. Each competitor brings a unique style: Parker’s aggression, Jordan’s athleticism, and Vice’s striking ability. Whoever emerges victorious will carry major momentum into the fall.

Jordynne Grace vs. Blake Monroe

Once allies, now bitter rivals. Monroe cost Grace against Jayne at Evolution, and since then has mocked her looks and questioned her ability to win under pressure. Grace—one of the best in the world—heads into this match with revenge on her mind.

Mixed Tag Team Match: Ethan Page & Chelsea Green vs. Tavion Heights & Tyra Mae Steele

In a patriotic clash, Canada’s Page and Green square off against the American tandem of Heights and Steele. The tension reached a boiling point after a “Peace Treaty” went south on NXT, ending in chaos. With Tavion Heights rising fast and Steele making history as WWE’s first female Olympic gold medalist, this bout could be more than just bragging rights—it may signal who’s next in line for the North American Title.

Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

Heatwave is stacked with intrigue from top to bottom. Femi vs. Evans is a true test of whether the new generation can dethrone the established ruler. Jayne’s chaotic reign as Knockouts Champion could crumble in the triple threat, and DarkState’s numbers game feels like the kind of scenario where titles change hands. But what makes Heatwave fascinating is the unpredictability—several matches feel like they could swing either way, and that’s the magic of NXT.

Expect fireworks, expect surprises, and above all, expect a night that sets the stage for NXT’s fall run.
