Reminder: WWE Wrestlepalooza Special Airing Today on ESPN2 Ahead of Historic ESPN App Debut—Full Details

The countdown to WWE Wrestlepalooza is in full swing, and ESPN is rolling out the red carpet with a special preview event airing across its platforms. Fans can tune in today, Friday, September 19, for the Wrestlepalooza Special on ESPN2 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET — a first-of-its-kind production designed to hype the groundbreaking partnership between WWE and ESPN.

What Fans Can Expect

According to sources, ESPN plans to air similar specials before every major WWE Premium Live Event moving forward. The goal? Hype the storylines, remind casual viewers of the rivalries at stake, and push ESPN Unlimited subscriptions ahead of each big show.

Tonight and tomorrow, replays will run on both ESPN2 and ESPNews, giving fans multiple chances to catch the action before the Wrestlepalooza pre-show begins.

Replay Schedule – “Wrestlepalooza Special”

Friday, 9/19

  • ESPN2: 3 PM, 7 PM, 11 PM ET
  • ESPNews: 5 PM, 10 PM ET

Saturday, 9/20

  • ESPN2: 3 AM, 5:30 AM ET
  • ESPNews: 12 AM, 2 AM, 7 AM, 9 AM, 11 AM, 3 PM ET

Road to Wrestlepalooza

At 3 PM ET on Saturday, ESPN will also air a separate program (different content than the "special") titled “Road to Wrestlepalooza.” This will serve as the final build-up before the official Wrestlepalooza pre-show on ESPN Unlimited at 5 PM ET, leading directly into the Premium Live Event itself at 7 PM ET.

What makes this unique is that WWE and ESPN are making Road to Wrestlepalooza available beyond the ESPN App. Fans can watch it for free across X (Twitter), YouTube, and other social platforms, ensuring maximum hype before the show begins, and grab as many subscriptions as possible for fans that either forgot to signup or have been holding out.

🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

This move signals just how serious ESPN is about its WWE partnership. By not only broadcasting specials on cable TV but also amplifying them across social platforms, ESPN is betting big on pro wrestling’s ability to draw digital subscriptions. For fans, this is a win: more free content leading into a massive event, while also establishing a new era where WWE’s biggest stories are front and center on mainstream sports channels.
