Report: Liv Morgan’s WWE Status, Return Timeline, and What Fans Can Expect
When will one of WWE’s most popular Superstars make her long-awaited comeback?
The former Women’s World Champion has been sidelined since June after suffering a separated shoulder in a match against Kairi Sane on Monday Night Raw. The injury required surgery and forced her out of an ongoing feud with Nikki Bella leading up to the Evolution premium live event. At the time, she also held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles alongside Raquel Rodriguez of The Judgment Day, but was later replaced by Roxanne Perez due to the injury.
Updated Timeline for Her Return
According to a new report from PWInsider, WWE officials are “very excited” about her eventual return and expect her to be medically cleared in early 2026 — though there’s optimism it could happen sooner depending on her recovery progress.
WWE’s early 2026 schedule gives plenty of big-stage options for her comeback. The Royal Rumble takes place on January 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, followed by Elimination Chamber in Chicago on February 28, and then WrestleMania 42 — a two-night event set for April 19–20 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Royal Rumble Return a Real Possibility
Given the timeline, a surprise return at the Royal Rumble would make perfect sense. The former champion has a strong fan following in Saudi Arabia, having become the first-ever Women’s Crown Jewel Champion in 2024 after defeating Nia Jax. A Rumble comeback would generate a massive reaction and set the stage for a new chapter in her career.
If she does return in January, WWE creative has no shortage of storylines to explore — from reigniting her rivalry with Nikki Bella, to challenging Stephanie Vaquer if she remains Women’s World Champion, or even confronting Roxanne Perez over her ongoing tension with Dominik Mysterio.
With her charisma, fan support, and unfinished business across multiple divisions, the returning star could easily reinsert herself into the title picture — or even make a run at headlining WrestleMania 42.
Wrestling.news | Backstage Take
The excitement for her comeback isn’t just corporate hype — it’s real fan anticipation. WWE clearly sees her as a key player for 2026, and the idea of her shock return at the Royal Rumble writes itself. Whether she wins the Rumble or reignites a personal feud, expect her return to spark a major reaction across the WWE Universe.
After an injury setback that could’ve ended her momentum, she’s poised for the opposite — a career resurgence.
