ROH Death Before Dishonor Results - August 29, 2025: Bandido Survives, Athena Retains, and Sammy Guevara Turns on the Von Erichs

Ring of Honor’s annual Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view brought chaos and history to the iconic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. From shocking betrayals to brutal brawls, the show delivered drama across both the pre-show and the main card.

Pre-Show Highlights

  • Jay Lethal def. Jordan Oliver
Veteran Jay Lethal weathered Oliver’s youthful energy, escaping a roll-up attempt before attacking the leg with dragon screw whips. Lethal locked in the figure-four in the center of the ring, forcing Oliver to tap out. A solid outing that keeps Lethal’s momentum rolling.
  • Afterward, Blake Christian and Lee Johnson confronted Lethal, mocking his age and reminding him of Christian’s prior victory. The duo promised to run through more ROH legends when they meet The Kingdom later.
  • MxM Collection (Mansoor & Mason Madden) def. Griff Garrison & Cole Karter and The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds & John Silver)
In a chaotic three-way, Dark Order nearly had it won after their suplex combo, but Johnny TV sprayed his new “Seed” perfume into Reynolds’ eyes. Mansoor capitalized, reversing a jackknife pin to steal the win.
  • QT Marshall & Paul Walter Hauser — Verbal Confrontation
QT dismissed Hauser as an outsider, while the actor insisted he didn’t want to be “one of the boys,” only to get his hands on QT.
  • Billie Starkz def. Ashley Vox (Pure Rules Match)
Starkz fought through rope-break strategy and even used a blatant closed fist that drew a warning. Vox showed grit with a few sneaky near falls, but Starkz finished her with a punishing backbreaker.
  • $50,000 Showcase: Dralistico def. Adam Priest, Angelico, and AR Fox
In a high-flying, fast-paced contest, Dralistico outlasted the pack, crushing Angelico with a flying Codebreaker to claim the cash prize.

Main Card Results

  • Tomohiro Ishii & Hologram def. Ari Daivari & Tony Nese
A stiff opener that gave the Philly crowd a taste of Ishii’s trademark brutality.

  • ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship
Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor, Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo) def. Sons of Texas (Sammy Guevara, Ross & Marshall Von Erich) (c)
In the first title change of the night, STP grounded the Von Erichs’ momentum and pinned Guevara’s group to capture the gold.

  • Women’s Pure Championship Tournament Quarterfinal:
    Queen Aminata def. Taya Valkyrie
Aminata advanced in the inaugural tournament with precision offense and crisp counters, outlasting Valkyrie in a technical battle.

  • Blake Christian & Lee Johnson def. The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett)
Cocky but effective, Christian and Johnson backed up their pre-show trash talk, stealing a big win over the veteran team.

  • ROH Pure Championship:
    Lee Moriarty (c) def. Xelhua
After Xelhua exhausted all three rope breaks, Moriarty trapped him in an octopus hold before transitioning into the Border City Stretch. With no escape left, Xelhua was forced to tap out.

  • Fight Without Honor:
QT Marshall def. Paul Walter Hauser
This violent spectacle saw Hauser bleed, take a powerbomb onto thumbtacks, and fight through multiple brutal spots. Aaron Solo interfered with kendo sticks until Hook made a surprise appearance, suplexing Solo through a table and choking him out backstage. The finish saw QT deliver an avalanche cutter through a table covered in glass for the pinfall. Post-match, QT offered Hauser a fist bump in respect for his toughness.

  • ROH World Tag Team Championship:
Sammy Guevara & Rush def. The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum)
Guevara’s mystery partner was revealed as Rush, and the two made quick chemistry as a heel duo. After Rush nailed the Bull’s Horns dropkick, Sammy dove onto Floyd to secure the win and the titles. But the real story came after the match: the Von Erichs confronted Sammy, who pretended to reconcile before superkicking his former partners. With LFI at his side, Sammy Guevara made his betrayal official.

  • ROH World Championship:
    Bandido (c) def. Hechicero
In what many called a five-star classic, Bandido and Hechicero went over 30 minutes in a clash of styles. Bandido’s high-flying counters matched Hechicero’s mat wizardry. After multiple blocked attempts at the 21 Plex, Bandido sealed it with a rolling German suplex bridge for the victory. A match-of-the-year contender.

  • ROH Women’s World Championship (Main Event):
    Athena (c) def. Mina Shirakawa
With the Blue Meanie hilariously appearing as one of Athena’s trainees during her entrance, the match quickly shifted to a gritty 25-minute battle. Mina targeted Athena’s knee, while Athena attacked Mina’s injured hand. Shirakawa nearly had it with a spinning backfist into the Mina Driver, but Athena powered out. The “Forever Champion” rallied back, landing a straitjacket powerbomb before hitting the O-Face stunner from the top rope to retain.

🎙 Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

Death Before Dishonor 2025 felt like a turning point for ROH. Bandido and Hechicero delivered a main event worthy of the brand’s golden era, Athena once again proved she is the anchor of the women’s division, and Sammy Guevara’s shocking heel turn against the Von Erichs injected new life into ROH’s tag team scene.

The Fight Without Honor showed ROH still knows how to blur the line between chaos and storytelling, especially with Hook’s cameo. And while the production hit snags early, the energy of the 2300 Arena and the quality of matches more than made up for it. ROH leaned on international flair, legacy, and shock value — a combination that worked.
