Sparks Fly on WWE Raw: Rollins, Lynch, Punk & AJ Lee Trade Blows Before Wrestlepalooza

At the top of the second hour of WWE Raw on Netflix, the roof nearly came off the MassMutual Center as Seth Rollins’ music hit. Moments later, the crowd erupted again when Becky Lynch’s theme played, as the reigning Intercontinental Champion joined her husband on the way to the ring.
Rollins wasted no time, bashing the local fans before sending a sly shoutout to those watching live on Netflix. With his trademark swagger, he hyped Lynch as “your Intercontinental Champion, Becky Friggen Lynch.”
The crowd, however, had other ideas—loudly chanting for AJ Lee to make her presence known.
Punk and AJ Answer the Call
Lynch, clearly agitated, demanded AJ come to the ring, declaring she doesn’t talk behind anyone’s back. Right on cue, AJ Lee’s iconic skipping entrance brought her down the aisle, with CM Punk by her side.
Punk grabbed the mic first, introducing himself as AJ’s husband and taking shots at Rollins and Lynch’s leather-heavy attire, joking about their egos and their need for two separate entrance themes.
Rollins fired back, mocking Punk’s sense of style before reminding everyone he is the World Heavyweight Champion—to which Punk quickly quipped: “For now.”
Lynch then turned her attention to AJ, questioning her return after 10 years away, mocking her injury history, and even jabbing at her mental health. Becky proudly called herself the “greatest female wrestler of all time,” prompting Punk to cut her off with: “No one is saying that.” Rollins quickly jumped in with comedic timing, shouting: “I say it all the time!”
The crowd ate it up.
AJ Strikes Back
AJ finally took the mic, slyly thanking Lynch for “reading my book” before firing back with sharp insults, including mocking Becky’s constipated facial expressions on SmackDown. Fans hilariously picked up the “constipated” chant in unison.
The segment turned physical when AJ slapped Rollins across the face. Rollins refused to retaliate, insisting he wouldn’t hit a woman—but promised he had someone who would. Lynch looked panicked as Rollins barked at her to step up, only for the two to argue and bicker as tensions boiled over.
Chaos unfolded as Rollins shoved Punk, leading to a chase that allowed Becky to blindside Punk with a Man-slam. When Punk tried to recover, Lynch smacked him across the face once more. Rollins and Lynch stood tall in the ring, posing with their championship gold as the crowd jeered.
With Wrestlepalooza just days away, this feud is now at a fever pitch.
🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take
This segment delivered everything you want from a go-home Raw: heat, comedy, and chaos. Rollins and Lynch played their arrogant power couple role to perfection, while Punk and AJ Lee brought the kind of bite that made the segment feel unpredictable.
The decision to lean into AJ’s 10-year absence, Punk’s wit, and Rollins’ unhinged energy gave fans plenty of reasons to be invested heading into Wrestlepalooza. The final image of Becky standing tall over Punk was pure foreshadowing—expect fireworks when these four collide on Saturday.
Downfall Note: This was the second 20+ in-ring promo segment of the evening after John Cena opened the show up.
