TNA in Active Negotiations for Major TV Deal — Could Wednesdays Become Wrestling’s Next War?

TNA Wrestling is inching closer to a new media rights home, and the timing couldn’t be more intriguing. In an exclusive conversation with TV Insider, TNA President Carlos Silva confirmed that the company has moved beyond preliminary talks and is now in “active negotiations” with a potential broadcast partner.

Silva noted that while there’s no exact timetable, the goal is to have a finalized deal in place for the start of 2026. “We’re now in active negotiations with a partner, and we’re going to work through that. I can’t really put a timeline on how long that will take,” Silva explained. “The good news is the process has started. We’re no longer just talking to a bunch of people to sort of gauge interest. Now we have an interested partner and [are] working through potentially a deal for 2026.”

He added that discussions are already progressing with paperwork being exchanged this week, signaling that both sides are committed to moving things forward.

While Silva did not name the network in play, speculation has been swirling since the summer. Reports suggested that TNA could land on a station with WWE ties, such as The CW or A&E. The CW has emerged as a logical candidate given the ongoing NXT vs. TNA storyline, which will culminate in next week’s Showdown Special featuring both rosters in head-to-head competition.

If finalized, the rumored deal could be worth around $10 million annually, a figure that would allow TNA to run more live broadcasts of Impact Wrestling. One of the most intriguing possibilities being discussed is a shift to Wednesday nights, potentially putting TNA directly opposite AEW Dynamite in a high-stakes battle for midweek supremacy.

For now, Impact continues to air weekly Thursday's on AXS TV and streams on TNA+. But with Bound For Glory just days away on October 12 in Lowell, Massachusetts—headlined by Mike Santana challenging Trick Williams for the TNA World Championship—the company’s momentum is undeniable as it heads toward a new chapter.

If TNA truly makes the leap to Wednesday nights, wrestling fans could be in for the closest thing to a new “Wednesday Night War.” While AEW has long owned that midweek real estate, TNA aligning with a bigger platform—and potentially riding the crossover buzz with WWE NXT—would make for one of the most fascinating industry shifts in years. The $10 million figure being floated shows that TNA is serious about scaling up its product, and if they can secure a live slot, it could mark their most ambitious push since the Spike TV era. The next few months will be pivotal in determining whether TNA’s resurgence is a flash in the pan or the foundation of another wrestling boom period.
