Tony Khan Opens Up on ROH’s Future: Weekly TV or Staying with HonorClub?

The future of Ring of Honor remains one of the most talked-about topics in the wrestling industry, as fans continue to wonder whether the brand will ever transition from HonorClub to a traditional weekly television show.
During the ROH Death Before Dishonor 2025 media call, AEW and ROH President Tony Khan addressed the speculation head-on. Khan explained that while the possibility of ROH TV is very real, any move would need to align with his larger media rights strategy—particularly his partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery.
“In order to have another product in the market that I also control the media rights for, it doesn’t need to necessarily be the AEW deal, but for me to do something different, it has to make sense on the scale for our partners,” Khan said. “The Warner Bros. Discovery partnership fuels everything. It allows me to maintain the level of this incredible roster of wrestlers, the production, and keep both companies flush with great wrestlers and top events in top venues for the very greatest fans in the world.” - Tony Khan said on ROH's official YouTube Channel
Khan confirmed that offers for ROH TV have already been made, but he ultimately turned them down. His reasoning? They didn’t align with the “big picture” vision for AEW, ROH, or the media ecosystem he’s trying to build.

Tony Khan is playing the long game here. While some fans may feel frustrated that ROH is still tied exclusively to HonorClub, Khan is clearly waiting for the right media deal rather than rushing into a television contract that doesn’t elevate the brand. The big question now: will Warner Bros. Discovery eventually see value in expanding Khan’s portfolio to include ROH, or will another network step up with an offer too strong to refuse? Either way, ROH remains in limbo until the right moment strikes. But—the fan support is definitely there and ready.
