Update: Jelly Roll Confirms He’ll Return to WWE — “I Want a Real Run”

Country megastar Jelly Roll isn’t done stepping between the ropes. After making his in-ring debut at WWE SummerSlam 2025, the chart-topping artist says he’s itching to get back inside the squared circle — and this time, he wants more than just a one-night appearance.

Jelly Roll’s SummerSlam Debut: Just the Beginning

At SummerSlam in New Jersey, Jelly Roll shocked the WWE Universe when he teamed with Randy Orton to face Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul in a celebrity-meets-superstar showdown. Despite coming up short, the performance earned him major respect from fans and talent alike — and lit a fire he’s not ready to extinguish.

In a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, the Grammy winner made it clear that his time in WWE is far from over.

“I will wrestle again, for sure. I want to run it back. I want to do one more,” Jelly Roll said. “I know why Bad Bunny had to do Backlash now because I know he walked out of that ring that night knowing how much more he could give.”

But it doesn’t stop there. Jelly Roll hinted that he’s already thinking bigger than another one-off.

“A dream scenario is I’d like to get involved for like a run,” he continued. “I’d like to wrestle every Friday, you know what I mean? Like a 6-to-9-month run. But I definitely gotta do one more though, man.”

From the Stage to the Ring

This wasn’t Jelly Roll’s first time mixing music with mayhem. At SummerSlam 2024, he performed live before getting physical — using a steel chair and delivering a chokeslam to help The Miz and R-Truth fend off Grayson Waller and Austin Theory.

Now, the crossover star wants to follow in the footsteps of artists like Bad Bunny, who has become the gold standard for celebrity wrestling appearances. Bad Bunny’s performance at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico is still widely praised, and Jelly Roll admits it inspired him to take the craft more seriously.

Celebrities Continue to Shape WWE’s Modern Era

WWE’s embrace of pop culture continues to pay off. From Pat McAfee’s returns to the ring, to Cardi B hosting SummerSlam 2025, and Logan Paul evolving into a legitimate full-time performer, the blend of mainstream entertainment and professional wrestling has blurred lines like never before.

If Jelly Roll follows through with a full-time run, it could signal a new wave of crossover athletes bridging entertainment and wrestling with authenticity — not gimmicks.

Jelly Roll’s passion is the real deal. What started as a fun cameo has turned into a genuine desire to earn a place on the roster — and fans can feel that authenticity. If WWE gives him a limited run, expect the reaction to rival the energy of Bad Bunny’s Puerto Rico debut.

He’s got the charisma, the crowd connection, and the grit. All that’s left is the right storyline — and maybe a few more “broken guitars” along the way.
