Jelly Roll might’ve lost his tag match at SummerSlam Night One—but his connection with Randy Orton could still strike a major note in WWE history.

The country-rap crossover star and RKO Legend Killer may have come up short in their tag bout against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul, but behind the scenes, the two have bonded in ways that extend far beyond one match.

According to Fightful Select, Jelly Roll personally pitched the idea of recording a cover of Orton’s legendary theme song “Voices” and the Viper was all in.

Fans already saw hints of this during SummerSlam build-up, when Jelly Roll delivered brief live renditions of the track to help hype Orton’s entrance. The buzz was undeniable and now, WWE insiders believe there’s a real chance Jelly Roll’s version gets the green light.

Orton has been fiercely loyal to “Voices” since adopting it in late 2008, after brief stints with “Burn My Light” and “This Fire Burns” (the latter later handed off to CM Punk). The Rev Theory anthem has become synonymous with Orton's cold, calculating persona—so much so that he rejected a proposed new theme in 2023. But if anyone can bring a fresh twist that stays true to the original’s legacy, it might just be Jelly Roll.

Whether this new rendition will ever hit live WWE programming remains to be seen. But Orton’s loyalty to the track, mixed with Jelly Roll’s musical firepower, makes for a crossover that fans and executives just can’t ignore.

🎙️ Wrestling.News | Backstage Take

This is more than a musical favor—it’s smart branding. WWE thrives on moments that blend pop culture with wrestling legacy, and a Jelly Roll / Orton collaboration checks both boxes. If executed right, it could modernize Orton’s entrance without losing its edge. Plus, with crossover stars like Bad Bunny making waves, Jelly Roll could become a recurring figure in WWE’s evolving music universe which would be both amazing, and welcomed.
