WWE Heatwave 2025 Results - August 24, 2025: Shocking Upsets, New Champions & Main Event Controversy

WWE NXT Heatwave 2025 was a wild night from start to finish. The card delivered chaos, surprise finishes, and a showcase of NXT’s hungry young roster alongside crossover champions from TNA. Here’s everything that went down, in order.
Date: August 24, 2025
Location: Lowell Memorial Auditorium – Lowell, Massachusetts
Opening of the Show
Heatwave kicked off with the classic “Then. Now. Forever” signature. We got sweeping shots of Boston and inside the intimate Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Commentary hyped the night’s card, including Je’Von Evans’ challenge against Oba Femi, and then rolled into a polished promo package previewing the matches.
The crowd was buzzing — small venue, but it felt hot and personal.
Match 1 – NXT Women’s No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat
Jaida Parker vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice
The action was fast right from the bell. Jaida Parker imposed her power early, tossing both opponents before Jordan and Vice briefly worked together to even the odds. Jordan thrilled her family at ringside with high-risk offense, including a superkick followed by a breathtaking dive over the top onto both rivals.
Vice regrouped and battled Parker on the floor while Jordan kept trying to quicken the pace. A 450 splash attempt from Jordan missed its mark late in the match, allowing Vice to counter into a sleeper. Parker intervened but in the scramble, Lola Vice caught Jordan in a surprise roll-up for the three count.
Winner: Lola Vice – new No. 1 Contender for the NXT Women’s Championship
The women’s division is officially heating up, with Vice positioned for her biggest match yet at NXT No Mercy.
Match 2 – NXT Tag Team Championship
DarkState vs. Hank & Tank (c)
The champs were fired up, but the numbers game told the story. Hank and Tank started hot with double-team strikes and power offense, but Osiris and Dion methodically cut them down. Tank hit a spectacular swanton bomb and Hank nearly had it with a Boss Man Slam, but interference outside tilted momentum.
In the finish, DarkState pulled Tank into the post before hitting their tandem top-rope finisher. Osiris scored the pin, crowning new champions.
Winners: DarkState – new NXT Tag Team Champions
Match 3 – TNA Knockouts Championship Triple Threat
Masha Slamovich vs. Ash By Elegance vs. Jacy Jayne (c)
Jacy Jayne fought valiantly to keep her gold, landing a twisting neckbreaker and even a Frankensteiner while fending off Fatal Influence chaos at ringside. Masha looked dominant with suplexes, but Ash By Elegance used her opportunism and outside interference to swing the tide.
After a tornado DDT nearly sealed it for Ash, Jayne connected with her finisher—only for the Elegance brand to yank her from the ring. Ash capitalized with a top-rope maneuver on Masha and scored the three count.
Winner: Ash By Elegance – new TNA Knockouts Champion
Jayne was robbed, and the fallout between WWE and TNA talent is just beginning.
Match 4 – Jordynne Grace vs. Blake Monroe
This was personal, and it showed. Monroe opened with disrespect, slapping Grace before running from her. Grace powered through with suplexes and even a monstrous top-rope powerbomb, but Monroe kicked out.
The tide shifted when Grace crashed into an exposed turnbuckle. Monroe pounced with a DDT for the upset victory.
Winner: Blake Monroe
A chaotic, emotional fight where Monroe used mind games and opportunism to steal the win.
Match 5 – Mixed Tag Team Match
Ethan Page & Chelsea Green vs. Tavion Heights & Tyra Mae Steele
The Canadian duo came out cocky, with Page trash-talking both the fans and the U.S. Green tagged in against Steele to start, but Tyra impressed with crisp offense and a double German Suplex that wowed the crowd. Tavion eventually got the hot tag, tossing Page around the ring with explosive power.
Just when it looked like the young duo might snatch victory, Green blindsided Steele with her finisher “The Pretty” to steal the win.
Winners: Ethan Page & Chelsea Green
NXT Championship Main Event
Oba Femi (c) vs. Je’Von Evans
The crowd was electric for the main event. Je’Von Evans entered first to a big pop, clearly the fan favorite. But the atmosphere shifted when Oba Femi’s music hit—the dominant “Ruler” looked every bit the intimidating champion, and chants of “Oba” rang through the Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
From the opening bell, Femi treated Evans like a rag doll. Despite being undersized, Evans fought back with heart, earning praise from Booker T on commentary as “a future star for the entire company, not just NXT.”
Evans flew around the ring, connecting with high-risk moves and stringing together several near falls. He even hit a spectacular frog splash from the top rope that had the crowd believing, but Femi somehow kicked out. Later, a German suplex from Femi nearly ended it, only for Evans to rally with a cutter and a flip from the top rope. The champion cut him off with a brutal European uppercut, yet Evans refused to stay down.
Momentum shifted again when the referee was knocked out after Femi launched Evans into him. Evans capitalized with a cutter and followed up with a breathtaking backwards top-rope cutter. A replacement referee slid in, counted the three, and the arena erupted—only for the original official to return and rule Femi’s foot was under the rope. The fall was void, and the match continued.
That reprieve proved decisive. Femi hurled Evans over the top rope with an unbelievable overhead toss that sent him crashing through a ringside table. Dragging the challenger back into the ring, Oba finished it with a thunderous powerbomb for the definitive victory.
Winner (and still NXT Champion): Oba Femi
Evans may have lost, but he left Heatwave with the respect of the fans—and perhaps a claim for a rematch after the referee controversy.
🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take
NXT Heatwave 2025 felt like more than just a summer showcase—it was a statement event for the brand. Across the board, we saw emerging stars step into the spotlight, surprising finishes that set up big stories for the fall, and crossover championship bouts that made the night feel even bigger.
Lola Vice winning the Women’s No. 1 Contender’s match was a defining moment. She’s been building momentum for months, and now she’s earned the biggest opportunity of her young career. Pair that with DarkState’s tag title win and Ash By Elegance shocking Jacy Jayne to take the TNA Knockouts Championship, and you’ve got a night where NXT’s women and factions reshaped the division’s future.
Blake Monroe stealing a win over Jordynne Grace was pure heat—controversial and perfectly designed to fuel the rivalry. On the flip side, Ethan Page and Chelsea Green’s arrogant victory in the mixed tag showcased why they’re such natural heels, while still giving Tyra Mae Steele a chance to break out as a future star.
And then came the main event. Oba Femi remains the immovable ruler of NXT, but Je’Von Evans walked out with more credibility than ever before. Despite the loss and referee controversy, Evans proved he can hang with the champion. Femi may have retained, but the question now is how long he can keep the rest of the roster—and fans—at bay with Evans breathing down his neck.
Heatwave delivered drama, controversy, and a renewed sense of direction for NXT. With No Mercy looming, the pieces are set for an explosive fall season, and the stars made in Lowell could define the brand for years to come.
