WWE Monday Night Raw Results - July 14, 2025: Reigns Returns & Raw Ends in Total Chaos as the Road to SummerSlam Heats Up

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Monday’s WWE Raw opened the “Road to SummerSlam” in dramatic fashion at Legacy Arena, combining surprise returns, major challenges, and shifting alliances. Roman Reigns made a game-changing comeback, CM Punk earned a title shot, and Lyra Valkyria secured her spot in the Intercontinental title picture—all setting the stage for SummerSlam fireworks.

🔔 Match-by-Match

Naomi’s Moment:
New Women’s World Champion Naomi kicked off the show, delivering a powerful promo on last night’s Evolution event. Her cash-in over Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley means a monumental triple-threat showdown at SummerSlam. Adam Pearce officially booked that main event.

Tag Team Action:
Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez (Judgment Day) defeated The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) in a gritty tag match. Dominik Mysterio’s interference tilted the match in the champions’ favor.

Lyra Valkyria Defeats Bayley:
In a grueling 2-out-of-3 falls contest, Valkyria triumphed 2-1 over Bayley to become the No. 1 contender for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. Becky Lynch arrived ringside to set up their highly anticipated clash.

Nikki Bella Beats Chelsea Green:
In a solid mid-card bout, Nikki Bella secured a decisive victory over Chelsea Green, continuing her resurgence on Raw.

World Heavyweight Gauntlet Match:
The evening’s pinnacle saw CM Punk, Jey Uso, Bron Breakker, Penta, and LA Knight battle for the No. 1 contender spot for Gunther’s World Heavyweight Title. Breakker steamrolled opponents early, eliminating Penta, Knight, and Uso. However, CM Punk weathered interference and hit the GTS on Breakker to win.

Roman Reigns’ Return:
Just as the night closed out, Roman Reigns re-emerged to rescue Punk and Jey Uso from a post-match assault by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. Reigns delivered a memorably fiery Superman Punch to Breakker and Reed, reasserting himself as a dominant force—possibly hinting at a tag-team showdown at SummerSlam.

🧾 Story Line Builds

Backstage, Adam Pearce caught up with The Judgment Day crew—Roxanne Perez, Raquel Rodriguez, Dominik Mysterio, Finn Bálor, and JD McDonagh—while they prepared for their tag title defense. Bálor praised Perez and Rodriguez’s tag-team chemistry and reminded Dom of the importance of presenting a united front in Liv Morgan’s absence. At the same time, Pearce addressed an injury concern: Dominik Mysterio handed over a doctor's note but was informed he’d need a WWE medical clearance before he could be officially slotted into the SummerSlam Intercontinental Title match against AJ Styles.

In another locker-room corner, Paul Heyman was flanked by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, enthusiastically planting the narrative that Breakker would triumph in tonight’s Gauntlet and dethrone World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at SummerSlam. Moments later, Gunther himself crossed paths with Penta, exchanging icy glances before walking off—only to face Heyman and Breakker moments later. Heyman laid out his bold predictions: Breakker’s victory in the Gauntlet and a SummerSlam title win, branding him the next dominant force in WWE.

Elsewhere, Rusev held court with Jackie Redmond following his intense match with Sheamus, declaring he was destined for gold and teasing a rematch. Their exchange set up future tension. Meanwhile, Karrion Kross worked his dark charisma, making rounds and urging talents like Sami Zayn and AJ Styles to embrace a bleaker, “Final Testament”-style mindset. Finally, The New Day and Grayson Waller cornered Pearce with a lighthearted bribe—offering toupees as GIF-worthy persuasion—to secure a tag-title rematch, which Pearce laughed off, leaving them scrambling to earn it in-ring.

⏩ Quick Match Recap

  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez) def. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) in a Tag Team Match (non-title)

🤼‍♂️ MainEvent.News | Backstage Take:

This Raw delivered massive momentum swings. Naomi and Valkyria both cemented championship storylines, while Punk’s gauntlet win reignites his rivalry with Gunther. But the real headline-stealer was Reigns’ return—a timely reinforcement that WWE is doubling down on star power heading into SummerSlam. With loyalties shifting and fresh rivalries emerging, the road to SummerSlam on August 2nd and August 3rd is tanking up with explosive potential.
