WWE NXT Preview - September 30, 2025: No Mercy Fallout, NXT Invasion Teams Revealed

NXT rolls into Tuesday night riding the shockwaves of No Mercy, where Ricky Saints dethroned Oba Femi to become the new NXT Champion. It’s officially the Ricky Saints era, and with gold around his waist, expect challengers to come out of the shadows looking to stake their claim. Title changes, betrayals, and unanswered questions from No Mercy guarantee that tensions will boil over tonight as the brand pivots toward its next big chapter: NXT Invasion. With TNA stepping into the fight, the stakes have never been higher.
Jaida Parker vs. Lash Legend
The only officially announced match so far is Jaida Parker taking on Lash Legend. Their bad blood reignited at No Mercy when Legend distracted Parker during her NXT Speed Championship match against Sol Ruca, costing her the gold.
This heated rivalry has been simmering for months, and tonight may be the moment where Parker finally gets her revenge—or where Legend proves she has Parker’s number once again.
Match Preview: Parker’s power game vs. Legend’s athleticism should make for a fiery showdown, especially after the way No Mercy ended.
After weeks of harsh words exchanged, and after what went down at #NXTNoMercy, @Jaida_Parkerwwe and @lashlegendwwe will run it back TOMORROW on #WWENXT!

Who Will Represent Team NXT at Invasion?
NXT General Manager Ava confirmed that next week’s NXT Invasion special on The CW will officially pit NXT against TNA in a first-of-its-kind inter-promotional showdown. Survivor Series–style elimination matches will headline, with five men and five women chosen to represent each brand.
Tonight, Ava will reveal Team NXT’s lineup. With rosters stacked on both sides, the announcement will be crucial—can she pick the right mix of experience, star power, and locker room leadership to go up against TNA’s squad, chosen by Santino Marella?
The partnership has generated buzz for months, but the question remains: can WWE and TNA deliver on fan expectations? Wrestling audiences don’t mince words—if the event doesn’t live up to the hype, they’ll let both companies know.
Who Attacked Lola Vice?
One of the biggest mysteries coming out of No Mercy is the identity of the masked attacker who cost Lola Vice the NXT Women’s Championship. Vice was moments away from dethroning Jacy Jayne in front of her family before being blindsided by a hooded figure at ringside.
Speculation online has been rampant after WWE.com briefly published—and then edited—a recap that directly named Lainey Reid as the attacker. Reid was pulled from her Speed Championship match due to an “injury” and appeared in a walking boot at the event, but was it all a ruse?
If Reid has indeed aligned with Jayne, this would shake up the women’s division in a big way. But until the mystery attacker is revealed, Vice will be left looking over her shoulder.
🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take
Tonight’s NXT is must-see television, not just for the fallout from No Mercy, but because WWE is clearly setting the stage for a major interpromotional war. The announcement of Team NXT will be pivotal—fans are expecting headline names, not just filler picks.
As for Lola Vice, WWE needs to tread carefully. The botched “leak” naming Lainey Reid may have spoiled the surprise, but it also guarantees fan interest in how the story unfolds. If handled right, this angle could make Vice the hottest babyface on the brand.
The revolution is here! Ricky Saints is the NEW #WWENXT Champion 🕺🏆
