NXT rolled into Tuesday night hot off No Mercy and the TNA “invasion” angle, and things wasted no time in boiling over. With a new NXT Champion crowned, Survivor Series-style bragging rights on the horizon, and simmering grudges spilling out into the ring, tonight’s show was anything but quiet.

Ricky Saints Opens the Show

The new king of NXT, Ricky Saints, kicked things off as the brand’s freshly crowned champion after dethroning Oba Femi at No Mercy. The crowd showered him with “You deserve it!” chants, and Saints leaned into it, saying he’d always bet on himself — and this title around his waist was proof that the gamble paid off.

He was interrupted by Jacy Jayne, who tried to shift the spotlight toward the looming TNA showdown. Before things got messy, NXT GM Ava Raine stepped in and dropped the bombshell: Ricky Saints and Jacy Jayne would be captains for Team NXT.

TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella then introduced his own leaders: Mike Santana and newly crowned Knockouts Champion Kelani Jordan. The message was clear — this wasn’t just an invasion, it was an all-out NXT vs. TNA war, and the teams would be chosen tonight.

Jaida Parker vs. Lash Legend

Parker and Legend picked up their heated rivalry after Lash cost Jaida her Speed title match at No Mercy. Both women threw bombs early, with Legend’s size and power giving her the edge. But Parker wouldn’t stay down, landing a seated senton and grinding away at Lash’s base.

After a brutal exchange on the floor, Parker caught Lash with a running hip attack for the win.

Winner: Jaida Parker

Mustafa Ali Crashes Ethan Page’s Celebration

NXT North American Champion Ethan Page strutted out to gloat about beating Tavion Heights. But just as “All Ego” was running his mouth, the shocker hit — Mustafa Ali returned to NXT.

Ali cut a fiery promo, reminding everyone that two years ago at NXT No Mercy, he was promised a title shot before being abruptly released. Now, 749 days later, he’s back for what he earned. GM Ava Raine confirmed it: Page vs. Ali for the North American Championship next week at NXT Showdown.

A scuffle broke out, and Ali sent Page scrambling up the ramp — title clutched tight, confidence rattled.

Josh Briggs vs. Myles Borne (NXT Team Qualifier)

Team selection spilled into the ring as Josh Briggs and Myles Borne fought for a spot on Team NXT. Hard-hitting strikes, near falls, and some old-fashioned toughness defined this battle. Briggs nearly stole it using a chain, but a surprise appearance by Matt Cardona foiled him.

Borne capitalized with a side Russian legsweep for the upset win.

Winner: Myles Borne — officially joining Team NXT.

Lola Vice vs. Fallon Henley (NXT Team Qualifier)

With Jacy Jayne pulling strings backstage, Fallon Henley and Lola Vice went one-on-one for a team spot. Fallon’s aggression nearly carried her to victory, but Jacy’s interference tilted the odds. Lola landed a crushing backfist for the pin.

Winner: Lola Vice — earning her place on Jacy Jayne’s squad.

Tag Team Action: Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater vs. The Culling

Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater, despite their differences, teamed up to face Shawn Spears and Niko Vance. The Culling looked sharp, but Evans’ athleticism and Slater’s high-flying resilience proved too much. After a frantic closing sequence, Slater nailed a 450 splash on Spears to seal it.

Winners: Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater

NXT/TNA Summit: Teams Are Finalized

The main event segment saw the NXT and TNA locker rooms filling the arena as Ava Raine and Santino Marella made the teams official:

  • Team NXT (Men): Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, Myles Borne
  • Team TNA (Men): Mike Santana, Frankie Kazarian, Moose, Leon Slater
  • Team NXT (Women): Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker, Lola Vice
  • Team TNA (Women): Kelani Jordan, Jessie McKay, Cassie Lee, Mara Sade

The staredown quickly exploded into a brawl, with Shawn Michaels stepping out to watch the chaos from the stage — smiling like a proud mad scientist as NXT and TNA tore into each other.

🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

Tonight made one thing very clear: the Ricky Saints era is here. The guy has the swagger, the mic work, and now the gold to match. But the real story is the NXT/TNA showdown. WWE’s partnership with TNA has been one of the most talked-about crossovers in years, and next week’s Showdown feels like a proving ground.

The women’s division looks especially volatile — Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, and Jaida Parker on one side, while Kelani Jordan leads the Iinspiration on the other. That’s a recipe for fireworks.

As for Mustafa Ali? His return couldn’t have been timed better. The North American title picture just went from solid to must-see. And Ethan Page might’ve just talked himself into the fight of his life.
