WWE SmackDown Results - August 08, 2025: Cena Fires Back at Lesnar, Zayn Shocks Sikoa, and McIntyre Sends a Brutal Message to Rhodes

Montreal was electric, and WWE knew it — from Sami Zayn’s hometown hero win to Cena’s raw vulnerability in his promo, this show had a different emotional weight. Behind the scenes, sources suggest WWE is carefully threading the needle with Lesnar’s return, aware of potential backlash. McIntyre’s post-match destruction of Rhodes felt like a statement that he’s gunning for the Undisputed WWE Championship sooner rather than later. The Clash in Paris card is heating up fast, and if WWE times this right, it could be one of the most explosive international PLEs of the year. - Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

John Cena Addresses Brock Lesnar — Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre Crash the Party
Montreal gave John Cena one of the loudest ovations of his farewell tour as he addressed the WWE Universe following Brock Lesnar’s shocking SummerSlam return and attack. Cena admitted he’s afraid of Lesnar — but made it clear he’s ready for a fight and never backs down: “If you want some, come get some!”
Logan Paul interrupted, claiming Cena is “washed” and that he is the real show. A war of words turned into a challenge for Clash in Paris, but before Cena could finish, Drew McIntyre blindsided him. The beatdown was cut short by Cody Rhodes, leading to a tag team main event being made on the spot: Cena & Rhodes vs. McIntyre & Paul.

The MFTs Def. The Motor City Machine Guns
The MFTs (JC Mateo & Talla Tonga), flanked by Solo Sikoa and Tonga Loa, defeated the Motor City Machine Guns after targeting Alex Shelley’s injured ribs from SummerSlam’s TLC match. Tonga’s chokeslam on Chris Sabin sealed the deal. Post-match, Sikoa bragged about being the “most dominant U.S. Champion” — until SmackDown GM Nick Aldis brought out hometown hero Sami Zayn for an impromptu non-title match.

Sami Zayn Stuns Solo Sikoa (Non-Title)
Montreal erupted as Sami Zayn outsmarted Solo Sikoa, surviving interference from the MFTs and rolling up the U.S. Champion for a shocking pinfall win. Zayn escaped before the Bloodline remnants could retaliate, sending the crowd home happy — at least for now.

Charlotte Flair Def. Chelsea Green
In what started as a birthday “celebration” for Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair ended up smashing Chelsea Green face-first into a birthday cake before forcing her to tap out to the Figure Eight. Bliss and Flair celebrated while the Secret Hervice regrouped at ringside.

Main Event: Cena & Rhodes Def. Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre via DQ
The match hit fever pitch when Cena hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle and an Attitude Adjustment on Logan Paul — only for McIntyre to break the pin. Chaos broke out, Rhodes took out McIntyre, and Paul hit a blatant low blow on Cena for the DQ.
After the bell, Cena and Paul brawled backstage, while McIntyre viciously assaulted Rhodes at ringside. In a chilling moment, McIntyre Claymore Kicked Rhodes through the commentary table and stood over him, staring down the WWE Championship before walking away.
