🍻 Cena and Cody Make Peace with Beers and Blood Promises
John Cena opened the show with his signature “The Champ is Here” swagger, facing a thunderous mix of cheers and jeers. Just as he was about to speak, Cody Rhodes hit the ring. What followed was a rare moment of humility from Cena, who admitted his recent heel antics were a mistake and thanked Cody for forcing him to face his downfall.
Instead of fists, the two men shared beers and respect — just 48 hours before their brutal street fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Cody raised a toast: “Welcome back, John Cena.”
Wrestling.news Take: Cena’s promo wasn’t just emotional — it was legacy-defining. A symbolic “passing of the torch” or the calm before a war? Either way, Sunday is going to be must-see.
WE ARE SO BACK!!!

This episode delivered everything you want before a mega PPV: emotional stakes, violence, surprise alliances, and pure chaos. Cena's redemption arc is compelling, Jelly Roll is winning over fans fast, and The Bloodline saga continues to cook. SmackDown was pure main-event energy from bell to bell.
