WWE SmackDown Results - August 22, 2025: Cena Drops Logan, Orton Strikes, and Jade/Tiffany Close the Show Strong

SmackDown made history in Dublin’s 3Arena with the first-ever televised WWE show from Ireland—and the crowd was molten from the jump. Becky Lynch scorched her hometown in a venomous opening that set up a combustible main event, John Cena and Logan Paul traded verbal bombs before an AA punctuated the segment, Piper Niven scored a statement win, The Street Profits thrived amid Bloodline chaos, and Randy Orton dropped Drew McIntyre with an RKO heard on the Liffey as Jade Cargill & Tiffany Stratton closed the night strong. Full results and winners from Dublin are below.
Show: WWE SmackDown - August 22, 2025
Location: 3Arena — Dublin, Ireland
Commentary: Joe Tessitore & Wade Barrett • Ring Announcer: Mark Nash
Becky Lynch, Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill & Nia Jax Open
A homecoming turned hostile. Becky Lynch strutted out to celebrate Dublin’s first televised WWE show—then torched the crowd with a scathing “you don’t deserve it” tirade, name-checking Irish icons and crowning herself “your hero.” Tiffany Stratton stepped up for Dublin, Nia Jax piled on with a cheap shot…and Jade Cargill stormed in to even the odds, blasting Jax with a pump kick as Becky bailed.
GM Nick Aldis made the call: Becky Lynch & Nia Jax vs. Jade Cargill & Tiffany Stratton—tonight’s main event.

Motor City Machine Guns vs. Carmelo Hayes & The Miz
A chemistry test wrapped in a tag match. The veteran timing of Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin had Melo Don’t Miz reeling: stereo dives, Dream Sequence, and slick double teams. Hayes dazzled with La Mistica and “First 48,” but Miz’s veteran instincts decided it—he blind-tagged, let Hayes create chaos, then stole the pin while Hayes was sent flying.
Winners: Carmelo Hayes & The Miz (pinfall)
Post-match: Hayes and Miz advance to face The Street Profits next week in a No. 1 Contenders Match.

Backstage — Jimmy Uso, Sami Zayn & Solo Sikoa
Cathy Kelley congratulated Jimmy on Naomi’s pregnancy before Sami Zayn promised “Uncle Sami” duties. Solo Sikoa cut in, reminding Jimmy the Bloodline has plenty of “uncles”—and warning Sami that he’s not facing an underdog; he’s facing a WrestleMania main-eventer who wants the U.S. Title next week.
Moment. Ruined.

Charlotte Flair vs. Piper Niven (w/ The Secret Hervice)
Flair pushed the pace—crossbody, moonsault, and a spear—but Chelsea Green & Alba Fyre bent the numbers. A timely eye rake from Green turned the tide, and Niven bulldozed through with a body avalanche and Piper Driver for the three.
Winner: Piper Niven (pinfall)

Backstage — Giulia, Kiana James & Michin
Kiana James tried gatekeeping title shots for Giulia, but Michin cut through the red tape: if Giulia won’t answer, Michin will beat Kiana first and force the champ’s hand. Nikki Cross lurking nearby didn’t go unnoticed.
Cena & Logan Paul — Verbal Fireworks
Logan Paul needled the Irish crowd and branded Cena a “corporate pawn.” John Cena flipped the narrative, calling Logan not an outsider but a parasite using WWE as a branding ladder. When Logan got physical, Cena dodged the Titanium Punch and planted him with an Attitude Adjustment.
Later: Drew McIntyre told Logan to make it right—“whatever it takes.”

Match 3 — The Street Profits (w/ B-Fab) vs. The MFTs (JC Mateo & Tanga Loa w/ Talla Tonga & Solo Sikoa)
Controlled chaos. The MFTs mauled Montez Ford until the hot tag unleashed Angelo Dawkins. Interference hit overdrive—Jimmy Uso swung a chair at Talla Tonga, Sami Zayn wiped out Solo with a Helluva Kick, and the Profits seized the moment: Cash Out from Dawkins into From the Heavens from Ford sealed it.
Winners: The Street Profits (pinfall)
Note: Profits meet Miz & Hayes next week to decide the next tag challengers.

Aleister Black vs. R-Truth (…and Damian Priest)
R-Truth FaceTimed from Dublin, Georgia (yep), so Damian Priest hit the ring and went straight for Aleister Black. Security couldn’t contain it; superkicks and strikes spilled everywhere until the non-match brawl careened backstage.
Result: No Contest (wild pull-apart)

Drew McIntyre Promo… RKO Outta Nowhere
A seething Drew McIntyre called Cody Rhodes a “little bitch,” vowing to take the title the next time they meet. Randy Orton answered with a thunderous RKO, detonating the Dublin crowd.

Becky & Nia — Uneasy Allies
Backstage, Becky Lynch and Nia Jax agreed to coexist—for one night only.
Next Week (Lyon, France)
- U.S. Title: Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Sami Zayn
- Tag No. 1 Contenders: Street Profits vs. Melo Don’t Miz
- Women’s Tag Titles: Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss (c) vs. The Secret Hervice
Main Event — Becky Lynch & Nia Jax vs. Tiffany Stratton & Jade Cargill
High-octane tag turbulence. Tiffany Stratton opened hot with a swanton to the floor; Jade Cargill rag-dolled Becky with a fallaway slam and spinebuster, while Nia bulldozed anything in pink. When momentum swung, Becky walked out on her “partner,” leaving Jax to absorb a powerbomb from Jade. Tiffany landed Prettiest Moonsault Ever, and Jade capped it with a frog splash to close the show.
Winners: Jade Cargill & Tiffany Stratton (pinfall)

🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take
Dublin felt big-show big. Cena vs. Logan sold the spectacle—one part crossover, one part hard-truth sermon—with the AA reminding everyone Paris isn’t a clout grab; it’s a reckoning. Becky’s nuclear hometown turn worked because Tiffany and Jade stood tall opposite two of WWE’s most dominant heels—smart spotlight for tomorrow’s headliners. Profits vs. Melo/Miz next week should be a chemistry clinic; don’t sleep on Hayes’ singles star aura in a tag frame. The Piper Niven win signals real depth in the women’s scene, and Orton’s RKO shot of adrenaline keeps Drew/Cody red-hot without overexposing the champ. Clean, layered booking—and the Irish crowd lifted everything.
