WWE SmackDown Results - July 18, 2025: Chaos, Contracts & Cages: Cody Forces Cena’s Hand in SummerSlam Street Fight Shock

WWE SmackDown Results – July 18, 2025
📍 Frost Bank Center | San Antonio, TX

🔥 Main Highlights

  • Cody Rhodes forces Cena to sign a SummerSlam Street Fight contract
  • Jacob Fatu clears his name, Solo Sikoa gets arrested
  • Andrade & Rey Fenix become No. 1 contenders
  • Stephanie Vaquer continues her rise
  • Tensions explode across the tag team and women’s divisions

💥 Full Results & Key Moments

🚗 Bloodline Chaos Opens the Show

The night opened in the parking lot with a mysterious crash involving The Bloodline (MFT). Details were hazy, but Adam Pearce assured Cody Rhodes the contract signing would still go down.

👑 Charlotte Flair def. Raquel Rodriguez

Flair bounced back after Evolution with a win over one-half of the tag champs, aided by Alexa Bliss and a distraction from Roxanne Perez. A roll-up sealed it for The Queen. Looks like Flair is making her SummerSlam intentions loud and clear.

👮 Fatu Questioned by Police

San Antonio police briefly detained Jacob Fatu to question his involvement in the parking lot incident. Ultimately, footage cleared his name… but this wouldn’t be the last we saw of him.

⚔️ Damian Priest def. Carmelo Hayes (DQ)

This match stole the show — near falls, tributes to Shawn Michaels, and high-risk chaos. But as Priest went “Old School,” Aleister Black returned to knock him off the ropes and deliver a brutal Black Mass. Message sent.

🖤 The Wyatt Sicks Interrupt Broadcast

Mid-commentary, the Wyatt Sicks hijacked the feed, vowing to strip others of their "wicked desires" and act as guides in the shadows. The cryptic cult continues to loom large.

🔥 Jacob Fatu Clears the Ring, Solo Gets Caged

After Solo Sikoa ran his mouth about betrayal and criminal pasts, footage cleared Jacob Fatu of wrongdoing — and he stormed the ring with Jimmy Uso to dismantle MFT. Adam Pearce officially announced Fatu vs. Sikoa inside a steel cage at SummerSlam... before having Solo arrested. No one’s above the law, even The Bloodline.

🧨 Stephanie Vaquer def. Alba Fyre

Vaquer continues to impress, overcoming Alba with her signature SVB. Piper Niven tried to ambush her afterward but got sent packing.

🎯 Andrade & Rey Fenix win Tag Team No. 1 Contenders Match

In a wild four-way tag match, Andrade & Rey Fenix outlasted Fraxiom, DIY, and Motor City Machine Guns. After chaos, distraction, and high-flying madness, Andrade hit the Hammerlock DDT for the win. They’ll challenge for gold next week.

✍️ Cody Rhodes Forces Cena to Sign SummerSlam Contract

In the night's emotional main event, Cody laid it all out — but John Cena claimed he couldn’t compete due to a Netflix filming conflict. Fans booed. Cody wasn’t having it.

After a wild fight, Rhodes powerbombed Cena through the table, forced his signature onto the contract… and revealed it’s a Street Fight at SummerSlam!

🧾 Quick Results Recap

  • Charlotte Flair def. Raquel Rodriguez
  • Damian Priest def. Carmelo Hayes via DQ
  • Stephanie Vaquer def. Alba Fyre
  • Andrade & Rey Fenix def. DIY, Fraxiom, MCMG — #1 Contender Tag Match

🎙️ MainEvent.News | Backstage Take

This episode of SmackDown was the perfect storm: long-term storytelling meets real-world drama. Cody forcing Cena’s hand was pro wrestling poetry — the son of a Texan dragging a Hollywood legend into a fight he tried to walk away from. Add in the Bloodline fracture, Vaquer’s star rising, and Aleister Black’s haunting return, and WWE is finally feeling like must-see TV again.

If WWE keeps up this energy, SummerSlam might just blow WrestleMania out of the water.
