WWE SmackDown Results - October 24, 2025: Chaos Erupts Ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE SmackDown delivered an explosive night in Tempe as rivalries boiled over and momentum shifted heading into Saturday Night’s Main Event. From Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre’s brutal showdown to Jade Cargill’s shocking assault, the blue brand was chaos personified.

Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, and Jim Uso Set the Tone

The night opened with Cody Rhodes running into “Big” Jim Uso backstage. Uso thanked Cody for helping his cousin the previous week, but when the topic turned to family loyalty, tensions surfaced. Uso said he’d speak with GM Nick Aldis about unfinished business.

Moments later, Cody hit the ring to address Tempe, teasing an apology for attacking Drew McIntyre last week — but the crowd made it clear they didn’t want one. McIntyre interrupted from the crowd, cutting a fiery promo accusing fans of being “brainwashed by Corporate Cody.”

When Drew insinuated that Cody was behind the attack on Jacob Fatu, Rhodes snapped — but before fists could fly, Jim Uso blindsided McIntyre, launching a wild brawl that security could barely contain.

SIDENOTE: The independent wrestler who literally saved "Syko" Stu's life from the Raja Jackson beating—Douglas Malo appeared as a security guard during the opening SmackDown Segment, more details to come in a separate article here on Wrestling.news.

Later backstage, Uso ambushed Drew again, setting up their No Disqualification main event for later in the night.

MFT (JC Mateo & Tama Tonga) vs. Rey Fenix & Shinsuke Nakamura

In a fast-paced tag bout, Nakamura and Fenix dazzled early with double-team offense and stereo Good Vibrations. The tide turned after Solo Sikoa caused a distraction, allowing Talla Tonga to chokeslam Fenix into the apron.

After a brutal Hidden Blade from Tama,
👉 Winners: MFT (JC Mateo & Tama Tonga) by pinfall following the Cutthroat on Rey Fenix.

Kiana James vs. Tiffany Stratton

After early chain wrestling, Giulia interfered, throwing Tiffany into the barricade to give James control. The two traded nearfalls until Stratton landed a spectacular comeback, finishing the match with her signature Prettiest Moonsault Ever.

👉 Winner: Tiffany Stratton by pinfall.

Post-match, Giulia attacked Stratton, only for Jade Cargill to storm the ring — seemingly for the save. But in a shocking swerve, Jade leveled Tiffany with a lariat, beating her down and sending her headfirst into the steel steps. Cargill stood tall, WWE Women’s Championship in hand, declaring later backstage that “power, not patience,” rules this division.

Ilja Dragunov vs. Aleister Black – WWE United States Championship (Open Challenge)

The newly crowned champion Ilja Dragunov reignited the legacy of the Open Challenge — and it was answered by none other than Aleister Black, accompanied by Zelina Vega.

The bout was a war of intensity and precision. Vega interfered repeatedly, even hitting a hurricanrana behind the referee’s back. After a barrage of strikes, Black nailed a brainbuster for a close two-count. Dragunov rallied with his signature Torpedo Moskau, but his exhaustion delayed the cover.

Damian Priest then appeared, his eye still burned from Black’s fireball weeks ago. The distraction let Dragunov capitalize and connect with a final Torpedo Moskau for the win.

👉 Winner: Ilja Dragunov by pinfall, retaining the WWE United States Championship.

Post-match, Priest destroyed Black with a Con-Chair-To setup before Zelina Vega saved her husband from permanent damage.

Carmelo Hayes, DIY, and SmackDown’s Future Mix It Up

Backstage, Carmelo Hayes vowed to focus on “being HIM” again after settling his score with The Miz. When Kit Wilson mocked his “toxic masculinity,” Melo challenged him to a match next week.
Meanwhile, Ilja Dragunov’s open challenge drew interest from Fraxiom and DIY, teasing future contenders for the U.S. Title.

Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair & Nia Jax – Backstage Tension

Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair laughed off Bayley’s earlier comments, only to be confronted by Nia Jax, who accused them of fake friendship. Alexa fired back, saying the “old her” was easy to find — prompting Nia to challenge her to a match next week.

Main Event: Drew McIntyre vs. “Big” Jim Uso (No Disqualification Match)

The grudge between McIntyre and Uso exploded instantly. They brawled around ringside and into the crowd before Drew used a steel chair to brutalize Uso.

Uso fought back, sending McIntyre crashing through a Slim Jim table with a Samoan Drop, but Drew countered a top-rope dive by hurling a chair into his face. One Claymore Kick later sealed the deal.

👉 Winner: Drew McIntyre by pinfall.

After the bell, McIntyre choked Uso with a chair until Cody Rhodes hit the ring for the save. Drew bailed — only to return seconds later and flatten Cody with another Claymore to close the show.

McIntyre stood tall, shouting over a fallen Rhodes as the screen faded to black.

Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

This episode of SmackDown set the perfect tone heading into Saturday Night’s Main Event. WWE balanced emotional storytelling with pure chaos — Drew McIntyre continues his descent into obsession, while Cody Rhodes’ hero complex keeps putting him in harm’s way.

The women’s division saw a seismic shift with Jade Cargill’s vicious attack, and Ilja Dragunov’s U.S. Title reign already feels electric. The blue brand feels unpredictable again — and that’s exactly what WWE needed before its next major showcase.
