WWE SummerSlam Night 1 Results - August 2, 2025: Chaos, Blood, and Cash-Ins — Fans Left Shocked After Rollins Historic Moment

📍 MetLife Stadium — East Rutherford, NJ
 👥 Attendance: 53,161

🔥 Roman Reigns & Jey Uso def. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed

SummerSlam kicked off with an absolute war. This tag match was an inspired opener and might go down as one of the most brutal, high-impact openers in SummerSlam history. The crowd was fully engaged as Reigns and Uso withstood everything Breakker and Reed threw at them. The finish came when Jey Uso hit a decisive splash for the 1-2-3.

Wrestling.News Grade: A+ — Phenomenal pacing, crowd energy, and physical storytelling.

👑 Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair def. Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez)

Rodriguez and Perez delivered impressive tag team chemistry, dominating stretches with crisp teamwork and quick tags. Flair dazzled with technical brilliance, while Bliss took a heavy beating from Perez. Despite Judgment Day’s cohesion, Bliss secured the win with a surprise pin on Raquel.
A new era begins: “Auntie Char” and Bliss reign supreme.

Wrestling.News Grade: B- — Great action, but Bliss and Flair must show true unity to hold these belts for long.

Side Note: A horror trailer (“Weapons”) was shown mid-event—odd placement during a “premium” live experience. TKO continues to change WWE… and then came a Canelo vs. Crawford ad… and a Cardi B promo. What is happening?

🎯 Sami Zayn def. Karrion Kross

The crowd exploded for Zayn’s entrance. This grudge match saw brutality from the jump. Kross, accompanied by Scarlett, punished Zayn—screaming at him to “say it!” while torturing him with rope chokes and finger stomps. Sami refused to embrace the dark side, even tossing away a lead pipe.
After intense exchanges and near-falls, Zayn pulled off a CLEAN win.
Wrestling.News Grade: C — Solid, but lacked the fireworks of earlier matches. This feud is far from over.

Michael Cole followed up with a heartfelt tribute to Hulk Hogan that gave us chills. The crowd stood as “Real American” echoed across MetLife, and a tearful Nick Hogan looked on.
 Rest in Peace, Brother. 🧡

💎 Tiffany Stratton (c) def. Jade Cargill – Women’s Championship

The Queen of the Ring brought the fire early, dominating Stratton outside the ring. Tiffany bounced back with graceful athleticism and high-risk offense, showing why she’s one of WWE’s rising stars. Cargill nearly had it after a top-rope facebuster attempt, but Stratton reversed with a flawless moonsault for the win.
Wrestling.News Grade: A — The future of women’s wrestling is here. Jade showed star power, but Tiffany outsmarted her.

🎤 Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre def. Jelly Roll & Randy Orton

Entrances: Logan looked locked in. McIntyre was all business. Jelly Roll received an enormous pop, especially after belting out a line from Orton’s entrance himself. Orton looked absolutely jacked.

Match: Logan blindsided Jelly Roll before the bell, setting a vengeful tone. Jelly, surprisingly agile and full of heart, held his own until a brutal ringside beatdown. Logan hit a massive frog splash through the announce table—one of the wildest spots of the night.
Despite a valiant comeback, Jelly Roll was pinned after another insane frog splash.

Wrestling.News Grade: A+ — Total chaos. Respect to Jelly Roll for showing serious grit. Paul continues to prove he’s a legit superstar.

🩸 CM Punk def. Gunther (c) – Intercontinental Championship

Main event energy. Punk looked fired up; Gunther was all business. They went back-and-forth in a slow-burn technical showcase that turned violent fast. A monstrous chest chop from Gunther had Punk gasping. Gunther bled after a brutal table bump, and Punk capitalized with a flurry of offense—including a top-rope elbow and sharp submission attempts.

After surviving powerbombs, Punk finally connected with the GTS…
 NEW Champion: CM Punk!
Wrestling.News Grade: A+ — Punk showed grit, endurance, and why he’s still one of the best in the world.

But the celebration didn’t last long…

⚡ Seth Rollins def. CM Punk – Money in the Bank Cash-In

Rollins’ music hit—and he tossed his crutches aside. With Paul Heyman at his side, Rollins cashed in, beat Punk down with the briefcase, and stole the title before Punk could even process his win.
Wrestling.News Grade: A+ (Drama Bonus) — What. Just. Happened.

Winner & NEW World Champion: Seth Rollins

🧠 Backstage Take | Wrestling.News

SummerSlam Night 1 was unforgettable. Jelly Roll stole hearts. CM Punk got robbed. And Seth Rollins just reminded the world why he’s still The Architect of Chaos. We will be adding more detailed and refinement as the event just ended and we are now on to the SummerSlam Night 1 Post-Show.
