Let’s break down what awaits inside the double cage.

MEN’S WARGAMES MATCH

Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso vs. Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre & Brock Lesnar

WarGames has always been chaotic, but 2025 may be the most combustible version ever.
On one side, you have the uneasy “superteam” of:

  • Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes
  • World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk
  • Roman Reigns
  • Jey Uso
  • Jimmy Uso

Five men with enough shared history, betrayal, animosity, and tension to fill an encyclopedia. Can Rhodes, Punk, and Reigns even stand side-by-side without exploding?

Facing them is pure Heyman-engineered carnage:

  • Bron Breakker, the future megastar
  • Bronson Reed, the unstoppable wrecking ball
  • Logan Paul, the X-factor
  • Drew McIntyre, looking to reclaim dominance
  • Brock Lesnar, the ultimate wildcard

McIntyre & Logan Paul earned their side the man advantage on Raw, giving the Heyman-led unit an early numbers edge. But the bigger question is simple:

Does Cody’s team trust each other enough to survive WarGames?

WOMEN’S WARGAMES MATCH

Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & AJ Lee vs. Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, Lash Legend & Becky Lynch

The women’s match may be even more volatile than the men’s.

Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair barely tolerate each other.
AJ Lee wants Becky Lynch’s head on a pike.
Alexa Bliss is caught in the crossfire of every rivalry.
And IYO SKY is the most dangerous high-flyer in the entire match.

Charlotte secured her team the advantage by beating Asuka on SmackDown, giving them a huge momentum boost heading into the cage.

But on the other side?

  • Becky Lynch, still ranting about conspiracy
  • Asuka, always unpredictable
  • Kairi Sane, a silent assassin
  • Nia Jax, the unstoppable brute
  • Lash Legend, the rising powerhouse

The Becky vs. AJ Lee rivalry may overshadow everything.
These two are destined for a one-on-one showdown — but first, they get to fight inside steel.

JOHN CENA’S FINAL PLE

Intercontinental Championship – John Cena (c) vs. Dominik Mysterio

One last time.
One last city.
One last big fight.

John Cena wrestles his final PLE match — and fittingly, it happens in his hometown of San Diego.

Dominik Mysterio wants revenge after Cena took the title from him in Boston. Dom has the homefield advantage and the backing of fans who despise Cena just as much as they cheer him.

Regardless, this is Cena’s last dance — and WWE is treating it like the emotional farewell it should be.

WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Nikki Bella

This is one of the most personal matches on the card.

Nikki Bella built a genuine friendship with Stephanie Vaquer… and then shattered it with a cold-blooded betrayal that reminded fans she’s still one of the most dangerous women to ever step in a WWE ring.

Nikki didn’t come back at the Royal Rumble for nostalgia — she came back for gold.
She wants to prove she’s better than this generation.
And now she gets her chance against one of WWE’s most technically gifted champions.

Vaquer has never faced a veteran with this level of star power.
Nikki has never faced a champion with this level of momentum.

Something has to give.

🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

Survivor Series 2025 feels like a crossroads event — the last hurrah for Cena, the rise of Breakker and Vaquer, and the continuation of the Punk/Rhodes/Reigns chess match that will define WWE for years.

The men’s WarGames match has the potential to reshape both world title divisions. Punk vs. Cody vs. Roman is inevitable. The question is who takes the first shot inside the cage.

The women’s match might steal the entire show. AJ Lee’s return has injected the division with life, and Becky Lynch is operating in peak chaotic mode. Add Ripley and Charlotte — two alphas who do not share cages well — and you’ve got guaranteed fireworks.

This is the most must-see Survivor Series WWE has produced in a decade.
