Full Card Preview

Konosuke Takeshita vs. Tomohiro Ishii

Fresh off winning the G1 less than a week ago, Takeshita returns with hardware-level swagger and a guaranteed IWGP title shot in his future. Ishii is the perfect welcome-back exam: low center of gravity, piston combos, and no-nonsense shot trading. Their Tokyo Dome clash delivered trench warfare; this one won’t have a belt on the line, but the stakes are form and tone—Takeshita proving he can bring G1 pace on 48-hour turnaround, Ishii proving nobody walks through him on AEW soil.

Young Bucks vs. Paragon (Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong)

On Dynamite, Paragon cut off the Bucks’ attempt to soften Will Ospreay before Sunday’s 10-Man Lights Out Steel Cage. Tonight the Bucks chase receipts. O’Reilly/Strong game-plan with surgical precision (clinches, counters, neck work), while the Bucks weaponize tempo and tables of two. Expect a finish that folds directly into tomorrow’s cage chaos.

The Don Callis Family (Hechicero, Josh Alexander, Lance Archer & Rocky Romero)

vs. Hiromu Takahashi & SkyFlight (Dante Martin, Darius Martin & Scorpio Sky)
Eight-man volatility. Hechicero’s grip-fighting wizardry and Alexander’s grind pair viciously with Archer’s blunt force. Hiromu is a chaos engine, and the Martins + Sky bring altitude and range. The real subplot: can Callis’ crew nick confidence off Hiromu before his TNT Title date with Kyle Fletcher at Forbidden Door?

Triangle of Madness (Julia Hart & Skye Blue)

vs. Queen Aminata & Willow Nightingale
Julia/Skye have leaned into pack-hunting and opportunistic double teams; Aminata brings measured striking and Willow brings power and heart. If Aminata and Willow control the ring center and force stand-up exchanges, they’ll blunt Triangle’s numbers—if not, expect apron traps and quick-tag pressure.

Megan Bayne vs. Isla Dawn (AEW Debut)

Hometown spotlights cut both ways. Isla Dawn has the home-nation roar and a versatile, trick-bag style; Megan Bayne is a Megasus for a reason—long limbs, range, and top-rope danger for a powerhouse. If Dawn drags this into scrambles and forces Bayne to turn, the debut can pop; if Bayne establishes distance with jabs and front kicks, it’s a climb for Isla.

Max Caster — “Best Wrestler Alive?” Open Challenge (International Edition)

Forbidden Door season = surprise equity. Caster has turned these into rap-roast plus ring-test showcases. Watch the clock: if a challenger appears late in the hour, AEW is telegraphing segment heat headed into London.

Gates of Agony vs. Grizzled Young Veterans

Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun want to flush the taste of their Eliminator exit; GYV (Gibson/Drake) are savvy timing thieves who can tilt a match with one blind tag. If Gates keep the ring cut and stack corners, their power wins out. If GYV pull them into misdirections and second ropes, it’s 50/50.

Big Bill in Action

A “get healthy” booking with a purpose: heat Bill up, protect the chokeslam as a Sunday-ready threat, and keep the camera time tight.

🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

This is a momentum show. Takeshita–Ishii is less about standings and more about setting the thermostat for Forbidden Door—pace, pain tolerance, and proof that the G1 run travels. Bucks-Paragon is connective tissue to Sunday’s cage and should finish with heat. The women’s tag is a barometer for Triangle’s pack tactics versus power-under-fire Willow. Isla Dawn’s debut is clever booking—hometown adrenaline against a monster; if she swims, it tells you plenty about AEW’s plans. Callis Family vs. Hiromu/SkyFlight is chaos by design, the kind that bleeds into PPV narratives without giving away finishes.
