After three wild weeks in Chicago, AEW Dynamite rolls into Cleveland’s Wolstein Center tonight — and the stakes couldn’t be higher. From personal grudge matches to international championship implications, AEW is ramping up the drama en route to Forbidden Door: London.

👑 Mercedes Moné Is Back — and She's Bringing Gold

TBS Champion Mercedes Moné makes her highly anticipated return to AEW tonight — her first appearance since her loss to Toni Storm at All In Texas. But don’t mistake her silence for stagnation. The self-proclaimed "CEO" has been busy overseas, capturing two more championships to bring her title count to a jaw-dropping eight belts across seven countries.

Tonight marks the beginning of her Forbidden Door journey, as AEW hosts a four-way qualifier to determine her challenger in a massive AEW vs. STARDOM vs. CMLL vs. RevPro TBS Title Four-Way Match at the O2 Arena later this month.

The qualifier is a stacked field: Skye Blue, Alex Windsor, Billie Starkz, and Queen Aminata — with only one earning the AEW spot on wrestling's biggest interpromotional stage.

💥 World Tag Team Title Tournament: Young Bucks vs. Brodido

In semifinal action, The Young Bucks will square off against Brodido (Brody King and ROH World Champion Bandido) in the World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament.

The winners advance to face FTR, with the ultimate prize being a crack at The Hurt Syndicate’s AEW Tag Team Championships at Forbidden Door. With the Bucks looking for a record-extending fourth AEW title reign and Brodido hunting for their first, expect fireworks.

🔥 MJF vs. Mark Briscoe: A Grudge Match with No Filters

It’s been brewing for months — and tonight, it finally explodes. Former AEW World Champion MJF steps into the ring with Mark Briscoe in a one-on-one clash steeped in personal venom.

MJF has taken his trash talk to dark and despicable levels, referencing Mark’s late brother Jay in his promos. But with no Hurt Syndicate at his side and the weight of the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship on his shoulder, MJF now finds himself with something to prove — and nothing to hide behind.

Briscoe, a man who fights from the heart, isn't just looking for a win. He’s looking for revenge.

🗺️ Forbidden Door Card Begins to Take Shape

With blockbuster matches like Toni Storm vs. Athena and Kazuchika Okada vs. Swerve Strickland already confirmed for Forbidden Door London (Aug. 24, O2 Arena), tonight’s Dynamite is another critical piece in the puzzle.

Expect more match announcements, tournament progress, and cross-promotional chaos as AEW, NJPW, CMLL, and STARDOM build toward what could be the most stacked wrestling event of the year.

🎙️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

AEW’s Cleveland stop feels like a pressure cooker. Mercedes Moné’s return isn’t just about redemption — it’s a global flex. Meanwhile, MJF vs. Briscoe is one of those rare matches that feels personal, because it is. The Bucks-Brodido clash? That’s the sleeper of the night — both teams want Forbidden Door more than airtime.

From the buzz backstage, it’s clear: this isn’t a throwaway Dynamite. It’s a chess move on the road to international wrestling supremacy.
