Backstage Update: Roman Reigns’ Hollywood Schedule Confirmed — And He Will Be on Raw Before Filming Begins

Despite recent reports suggesting Roman Reigns would be written off WWE TV following SummerSlam, new backstage intel reveals he’ll be back for at least one more appearance before the lights, camera, and Hollywood action roll.
According to PWInsider, filming for the upcoming live-action "Street Fighter" movie — which stars Roman Reigns alongside Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes — officially kicks off September 2, 2025. Reigns is expected to be on set for four full weeks, wrapping production during the final week of September — barring any delays.
But in a surprise twist, WWE has now advertised Reigns for the August 18th edition of Monday Night Raw in Philadelphia. That show falls just two weeks before he begins filming, giving WWE creative one more shot to deploy The Head of the Table before he's off the grid again.

The Fallout From SummerSlam — And What’s Next
At SummerSlam Night 2, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso secured a hard-fought win over Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed — two men now aligned with newly-crowned World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. With that victory, Reigns has essentially declared war on the other side of WWE’s power struggle, even if he'll be absent during its next few weeks of escalation.
With Reigns confirmed for Raw, fans are now speculating that WWE could begin laying the groundwork for a Rollins vs. Reigns showdown — possibly set for Survivor Series. Expect more tension to simmer between factions during Reigns’ absence, while CM Punk and LA Knight continue to get spotlight time as WWE tests out their long-term main event potential.
Wrestling.News will continue monitoring Roman Reigns’ filming commitments and WWE involvement, with updates to follow as this story develops.
🧠 Wrestling.News | Backstage Take
Roman Reigns may be headed to Hollywood, but WWE isn’t done squeezing star power out of him just yet. His scheduled Raw appearance offers the perfect opportunity to light the fuse on a slow-burn feud with Seth Rollins, giving creative the runway to build a blockbuster match for November. While fans may groan at another month-long absence, WWE seems intent on using Roman sparingly, strategically — and to maximize his aura.
