Becky Lynch Blames “Rogue Bee” and Referee Bias for Wrestlepalooza Loss to AJ Lee

Becky Lynch Blames “Rogue Bee” and Referee Bias for Wrestlepalooza Loss to AJ Lee

At Wrestlepalooza, history was made when AJ Lee forced Becky Lynch to tap out — her first submission loss in over six years. But according to Becky, the story isn’t so simple.

Lynch took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim she was not beaten by AJ, but instead “attacked by a rogue bee” in the closing moments of their mixed tag bout against CM Punk and AJ Lee. In the post, she accused referee Jessika Carr of blatant bias in favor of Punk and Lee.

“I have recovered the unedited footage which clearly shows that I was attacked by a rogue bee at the end of the match. I have not tapped out in over 6 years and if it wasn’t for the blatant bias of that crooked referee who so obviously saw that I was being ambushed by the vicious winged insect predator, I would have been declared the winner,” Lynch wrote.

Referee Jessika Carr quickly fired back with her own response, bluntly stating:

“🙄 Becky, you tapped out. And it’s not just me saying it. 🤷🏼‍♀️”

Even fellow WWE star Kofi Kingston chimed in, siding with Becky. He reposted her comments with the caption:

“I BEEN saying this! She lets her bias dictate her matches! Very sorry that you were victimized.”

While neither Lynch nor AJ Lee are officially advertised for tonight’s episode of Raw, the timing and buzz (pun intended) make it highly likely WWE creative will use this moment to set up a singles clash between the two — especially given AJ’s first match back after a decade away has already stirred major fan interest.

🗣️ Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

Becky Lynch has mastered the art of blending kayfabe and comedy, and this “rogue bee” excuse is already trending across the IWC. What’s not funny, however, is the money WWE stands to make if they follow through on AJ Lee vs. Becky Lynch one-on-one. With AJ proving she can still go after ten years out, and Becky refusing to let a submission loss define her, this feud has the potential to be one of the hottest storylines heading into Crown Jewel and beyond. Expect fireworks — and maybe a few more “bee” jokes — tonight on Raw.
