The Miz is stirring the pot again — and this time, his target is none other than Seth “Freakin” Rollins.

Appearing on The Rich Eisen Show, the two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion entered the studio on crutches, claiming he had suffered a serious knee injury during a recent SmackDown pre-taping. Playing it straight, he told Eisen and the crew that he had “heard a pop” and was told in Birmingham that his knee was broken.

“I’m going to be out of WWE for a significant amount of time,” The Miz said, appearing somber before eventually revealing it was all a ruse.

The setup was a direct callback to Rollins’ own pre-SummerSlam stunt, when the former World Heavyweight Champion faked an injury during his guest-hosting appearance on the same show — only to return weeks later and reclaim championship glory.

“I’m already trying to get myself better, get myself ready… maybe I fake an injury, come in here, host The Rich Eisen Show, and then maybe in a month I will be world champion,” The Miz joked, grinning as the gag became clear.

Fooled by Rollins the First Time

The Miz admitted that Rollins’ original fake-out worked on him, too.
“I texted Seth Rollins. I saw the injury, I saw the backflip, and I thought that kinda happens. I texted him, ‘Hey man, you’re in my prayers, hoping for a speedy recovery.’ He sent me a heart.”

History and Heat Already in Place

This isn’t just random banter. The Miz and Rollins have history — plenty of it. Over the years, they’ve crossed paths on Raw in high-stakes singles matches and championship bouts, including a notorious match that ended via stoppage after Rollins nailed The Miz with a vicious stomp. They’ve feuded over titles and pride, and the chemistry has always been undeniable.

Given their shared mic skills and in-ring adaptability, a 2025 feud between these two could be electric. The Miz has the charisma to verbally spar with anyone, but few could match his timing like Rollins. Add in the history, the title stakes, and the fact that Miz can still deliver in the ring when given the spotlight, and it’s a program that could headline any premium live event.

Wrestling.news | Backstage Take

We definitely want to see a Miz vs. Seth Rollins feud in 2025. The Miz’s mic skills are some of the sharpest in WWE history, and Rollins thrives when he’s got a verbal and physical equal to work with. Their past encounters proved they can match intensity bell-to-bell, and their shared history gives any program instant legitimacy. Miz belongs near the top of the card — and a feud with Rollins over a world title or major championship would be the perfect way to remind fans exactly why he’s one of WWE’s most decorated superstars.
