TNA in Talks for WWE-Affiliated TV Deal — Wednesday Night Head-to-Head with AEW Dynamite

For six years, U.S. wrestling fans have been able to catch TNA Impact on Anthem’s AXS TV or through the TNA+ app. But big changes could be on the horizon.
TNA President Carlos Silva confirmed earlier this year that the company has been in active negotiations for a new media rights deal since January 2025 — one that could significantly expand their television footprint. Now, multiple reports suggest that expansion could mean a major shift in both network and timeslot.
Jon Alba of The TakeDown on Sports Illustrated reports that TNA has had serious discussions about moving Impact to a WWE-affiliated television network, with The CW emerging as one of the frontrunners. Notably, the potential deal could see Impact shift from its long-held Thursday night slot to Wednesday nights — directly opposite AEW Dynamite on TBS.
Industry insider Andrew Baydala has added that two time slots are being considered: either 8–10 PM ET or 9–11 PM ET, putting TNA right in the middle of AEW’s flagship broadcast window. Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer has also confirmed the talks.

Silva insists the move wouldn’t be about “chasing competition” but rather making the best business decision for TNA’s future. Still, the optics are hard to ignore — especially with WWE’s influence lurking in the background.
The CW currently airs WWE NXT, while A&E (another possible contender) broadcasts WWE documentaries and special programming. According to reports, both networks — and some WWE executives — see value in adding TNA programming to their lineup. While no deal is finalized, conversations are said to be ongoing and serious.

If this deal comes through, Wednesday nights could become must-watch television for wrestling fans all over again. A move to a WWE-affiliated network gives TNA a bigger platform and could force AEW to step up its game even more on Dynamite. Whether WWE’s involvement is purely business or a strategic play, the result could be the best kind of outcome — two major wrestling shows pushing each other to deliver better TV every week. One thing is for sure, with speculation of WWE running a PLE in September directly against AEW All Out, this sounds like war to me.
